And is it possible for any of these people to get into heaven..

OK here is the question. Please answer truthfully.

If an individual did in all my power to save peoples lives who are starving from poverty, helped disabled kids, never killed or cursed at anyone, never stole in his/her life and never done anything else that would be considered wrong except for what you consider to be so wrong witch is not believing in god, never praying, don't give a rats ass if he does or doesn't exist and if he died for our sins, will there be any chance what so ever that he/she can get into heaven?

Is it possible for a man to go to heaven who has shot two kids in the face just for the hell of it, enjoyed the suffering of others, ran over a few people for fun, but then later truly believed God as his savior, repented and begged for forgiveness?

    1) That is two questions :p

and 2) The honest answer I would think would be "I don't know"

The first individual may be a good person according to our standards and the things that he did are no doubt good but this person is still a sinner. The Bible says the we are all guilty, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23) God will punish guilty because He is a just God and the punishment for moral crimes is Hell.

There is no amount of good deeds that we can do to take away from the bad. We have offended God and there is no way for us to make ourselves right with Him on our own.

However, God has made a way for us to be forgiven. He has means for a pardon. He offers us pardon of our moral crimes through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, God in human flesh, died a substitutionary death in our place. He took our punishment and payed for our sins. He sacrificed Himeself for us. We have a choice of whether or not we want to accept this pardon. Whether or not we want to be forgiven of our sins and restored to a right relationship with God. The only way to be forgiven and have a relationship with God is through His Son Jesus Christ. We must give our lives to Him.

In the second case, if that man who did all of these awful things realizes that what He did was wrong and came to the decision that he wanted to turn to Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness, God would forgive Him. There is no sin too great for God to forgive. Jesus Christ died for all of our sins, every one. God knows our hearts and if we are convicted of our sin and want to turn to Him and be forgiven He will not turn us away.

Jesus himself said 'no-one comes to the Father but through me'. As counterintuitive as it may seem, your second example is more likely to enter heaven. Jesus dies for the sins of the world, and so by acknowledging Him our sins may die also - your first example has no way to put the sins of their human nature to death and so cannot be reborn perfect in the eyes of the Lord. Hopefully, no one who lives such a life as your first example could have a heart truly closed to God.

It is. contrary to what many think, faith in Jesus Christ isn't a "get in free" card.

I think a just god would understand the difficulty many people have in believing he/she/it exists. Also, I don't think that realizing the error of your ways necessarily changes your behavior.

I know how much you christians hate atheist(I'm not one of them) but there are a ton of atheists that are good people. Here is the example..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ncCNwbb5Jc

Things that don't know god can do good things. Animals for example can be good and caring, they are not machines, they have emotions and their are very good animals out there.

This is the thing that scares me. So you could kill one hundred people for the fun of it, committed numerous acts of rape, but then later truly believed God as his savior, repented and beg for forgiveness you will be saved? Wow that is a little messed up IMO that someone like that can get saved but the person who's only bad thing is not believing in god will not be saved.

So if hitler turned around and truly believed in all his heart and mind that what he did was wrong, and then truly believe that god exists, beg god for forgiveness and claim him as your savior, then he will go to heaven? Well at least have a possibility of going to heaven? I hope not. I will be pissed and become a satanist. JK, I wouldn't do that. I'm too much of a good person.

Ummm. Jesus said that blastheming the Holy Spirit was unforgivable...

That is projecting human emotions onto non-human beings. yes, i do believe that Some species can feel "bad" if they hurt let's say their sibling or something, but most of that is usually backed up be some sort of evolutionary advantage. For example, it is good to be nice to everyone in your group, because then they will be good back to you in theory. Nature works that way. However, humans seem to be hardwired to go out of our way (often at our own expense) with no possibility of returning the kindness to help other people and animals...

The reality is that we are all sinners. None of us are good. We all owe God for the crimes we have committed. Some owe more than others but we all owe. God knows our hearts, our intent. If an evil man, even Hitler, truly wants to turn from His own evil ways and follow God, then God will forgive him.

This forgiveness can only come through Jesus Christ. Sin can not dwell in the presense of God. We all are guilty and all separated from God until we turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness. The Bible says that our righteous acts are like filthy rags.

God is just and will punish everyone according to the evil they have done. This is why Christ died for us. Which one of us is perfect, without evil?

This thread brings to mind some real-life examples that I remember well:

Jeffrey Dahmer, the renowned mass murderer/cannibal of the late 1980's/early 1990's, became a Christian in prison, shortly before he was murdered by another prisoner.

Karla Faye Tucker, the orgasmic 1980's pickaxe murderess who had become a Christian on death row here in Texas before then-Gov. Bush sent her on to her final reward in 1998.

The question was debated on radio talkshows in those pre-internet days:

Did the fact that these two notorious killers became Christians save them from damnation, while the innocent yet "unsaved" people that they killed in cold blood ended up going to hell?

Anyone care to give an opinion?

I say no. I am still very much in favour of the belief that you must be aware of your sin before you can ask forgiveness,a dn if you are not aware, you cannot be held accountable. This then begs other questions of is it our responsibility to tell people they sin, and who decided when someone acepts that they are sinners...

Anyone who wants to repent and seek forgiveness from God through Jesus Christ has not committed this sin. This is talking about a constant, ongoing rejection.

I disagree with that. You may believe that we are all sinners, but I don't think you can really say none of us are good. If we're not good, we're bad, and I definitely don't think that everyone is bad. Swearing and buddhism do not a bad person make. I think that there are bad people, and there are good people, and I would like there to be a heaven for the good people and some of the not-so-bad, but I think it's more likely and more realistic that we just rot in the ground.

What human being do you know that has never sinned? The scripture teaches that God has guided other nations besides Israel and christian ones the bible teaches that the Lord has given guidance to all cultures and if they follow the laws God has revealed to them they will be rewarded with eternal life remember the 10 commandments was a part of the covenant with Israel not the entire world. You can not use an english translation to criticize the bible you have to study the aramaic and greek the scripture was originally written in you will see the lord reads the hearts of man it is about the heart changing not your mind changing its not about killing children one day and the next day saying forgive me lord I believe now no its about a real change of heart and who best to judge that change other than the Almighty Lord who is immortal and infinite in knowledge remember we only use 10% of our human brains with only 5 known senses and what we perceive we perceive through those limited senses.

your still believinjg a ancient book over common sence
common sence tells you wether your good or bad & who around you is good & bad
common sence also tells you you can be good without believing in a book
and..that some of the people who take that book to hearty are purely bad including many preists & our evil president
so common sence tells yyou the bookj must be wrong

if you never read the bible..if you never heard of this jesus hippie dude..would you be good or bad then..based on your own actions

sorry dude ibelieve i'm a pretty damn good person..& no book can convince me i'm not
sorryyour sef esteems so low you let a story make u feel evil
