Socrates? Plato? Immanuel Kant? Religious dudes ain't got shit on them. I forgot other names, lost my philo notebook :[ Yeah, the Spanish Inquisition, Crusades, and Salem Witch Trials sure did a lot of good in this world. Good ol' Christianity.
Anyone who preached love. In the end though it's really just you, don't be a tumbleweed, grab the wheel, fear of the unknown is just the illusion of control.
Osama binladen could be a better philosipher than plato, its just all comes down to ones opinion. No ones philosophy is right, and no ones is wrong. The real question should be who is your favorite philosopher. There is nothing in this whole universe that makes something better than the next thing. Good and bad, things like this, are just illusions to keep this network of humans alive. The ego is a biological trick.
Ya but that wasn't Jesus's doings, it was all his followers. But as far as I know I'd probably say Buddha just because he achieved the end of suffering and helped others do the same but just my opinion, and ya pr0ne your totally right there is no greatest.
My favorite is Albert Camus or Gandhi. Jesus, I don't count so much as a philosopher, because he came form the standpoint that through God, he had the answers already (at least according to the Bible)
God* And no, he isn't. He's a part of the Holy Trinity of God; Jesus, the son of God. One of the three persons of God. One of those persons just happens to be named God.
this is why my gut instinct was to say myself for this thread, not for egotisitcal reasons, but because only i can know my philosphies best... not to say there weren't/aren't some other great thinkers out there, because there are millions even
hahaha i'd say that carl jung was pretty groundbreaking. but it depends though, whether we are talking about productive philosophies or not, and to what extent they had an impact on society. there are plenty of modern figures that have had a massive influence on the world.
