But everyone knows Stevie Ray Vaughan rocks. No one ever questions that! I must say the Buzzcocks. The Sex Pistols took all the glory and the Clash all of the politics and the Buzzcocks get no respect for thier love songs with 3 chords.
Where I live it is Led Zeppelin, everyone here is into to damn emo bands and dont appreciate the classics. At school I am know as "that Zeppelin girl" haha!
to me it is Strawberry Alarm Clock...they are a really good band and people who do know them think their only good song is incense and peppermints but in my opinion it is "Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow", but thats just me.
I'm sure that none of us really know who the most underrated artist (that's what makes the artist the most underrated, right?) is, but I'm going to say it's John Cale.
new riders of the purple sage... heard of em? prolly not... cause no one ever brings em up... and that was some damn good acid-country...
id have to say robert cray. i never knew who he was until i saw the crossroads dvd now hes one of my favorite artist. none of my friends knew who he was either. maybe its just because im fairly new to the blues scene.
Them (featuring Van Morrison). They were the loudest en raunchest band of the early sixties, even more than the stones, but i never see them mentioned.
I'm pretty sure that loads of hipsters have heard of them on these forums, after all Jerry is playing pedal steel for them. I don't really care for them too much, I bought the Veneta, OR show that is supposed to be like their best or whatever but I only dug a couple songs. I did however especially dig the cover tune, "I don't need no doctor." A surely underrated band is Soulive. There are lots of underrated bands, and you should support them if you like the band enough so that they get more ratings. (Hopefully good ones)
This one’s easy… Guided by Voices. Robert Pollard is a genius with about 5000 songs to his name. Hell, they broke up earlier this year and he already has a double solo lp coming out. He took the lo-fi sound to another level, practically is the godfather of the “indy” scene, and I’ve never seen him mentioned here except by me. Surprising since GBV sounds like the Beatles, the Who, David Bowie, the Stones, and Nirvana rolled up into one.
