i havent had health class scince 8th grade. I rember the teacher telling a story about some kid smoking weed with some pipe cleaning detergent in it and dieing...wich is total bullshit. I also rember all the stupid DARE programs
I had health in 7th, 8th, and I think 10th grade. The middle school ones especially were complete bullshit. I only wish I could transport myself back with my current knowledge and make that teacher look like a fool.
I think these classes contributed a lot to heavy drug use in teens.. They use to feed us a ton of crap... it doesn't take long for kids to realize its all bull... afterwich, they end up asking... "I wonder what else they have been lying about".
Yeah health in middle school was crap. i had it freshman yr but my teacher was a total hippie lol. We had to do a presentation at the end of year with powerpoint and i did mine on the sweet herb. got an A+ lol
My health teacher told us that smoking puts a cloud around your dopamine receptors and thats what gets you high, but the cloud stays there when your not high anymore and thats why you have a tolerance And doing LSD 7 times makes you legally insane!!hhhahahahahaah gooodness
My health teacher seems to be on the favoring side of weed. We've apparently had a conversation about it (which I vaguely remember only because I was on DXM and/or klonopins while the conversation was taking place.)
I had it today actually, the teacher is pretty cool about weed. She said that weed isn't really that harmful, but it can be a gateway drug for people with addictive personalitys, which is pretty much true. She said that if it was legal people probably wouldn't move onto other drugs, because they wouldn't have to deal with sketchy dealers, which is also pretty true. But the one thing that she was wrong about, is that tolerances never go away, that kindof pissed me off.
I hated health class in middle school. Whenever the teacher would talk about something related to veins or guts or intestines or anything vaguely disgusting, I would get this weird squeamish feeling in my wrists and arms. Yeah, I was a pussy back then.
She probably knows stuff like that, but there are a lot of things health teachers have to teach or are not allowed to talk about. I'd assume that there are certain lies that they are required to tell kids. When I took health class in junior high AND high school, and when my brother took them both 2 years behind, my mom wrote letters to the principal urging him/her to teach real sex ed, but the words of one mom don't compare to the extra funding schools get when they teach abstinence-ed.
what did they teach you about sex ed, the only thing i remember them telling us is not to have it but if you do always use a condom. Also that condoms dont protect against stds (probably just a scare tatic cause they do against some i believe).
They pretty much only admitted that condoms even existed in the speech about how there's still a good chance you'll get an STD or get pregnant when you use them. Everyone could tell the teacher thought it was bullshit, though. The day we took the "sex"-ed test she laid out a big table with all kinds of contraceptive stuff and told us just to ask her about them if we had any questions. Of course there was the graphic STD slideshow, but other than that they made sex-ed into the most boring, uncomfortable possible anatomy class.
"Smoking pot gives you the munchies and have irresponsible sex with out a condom" - Right about the munchies "LSD can kill you if you take one hit"...If its not real lsd "Cocaine can kill you" No shit sherlock and my favorite one i remember "The marijuana plant contains a poisoning chemical on the leaves called THC"...school is more dangerouse...and people dont smoke the leaves
I liked my health class experience in high school. It was a required course and the tests were open notes so it was easy. We actually spent more time on drugs than we did on sex-ed. We did the sex chapter at the very end. It was a couple days and then for 2 days we had ppl from an adoption agency and abstinence organisation come tell us about the alternatives to abortion and sex.
I loved health class. We just talked about sex, if the "G-Spot" is a myth or real and wind surfing (thats not some clever lingo, I mean actual wind surfing). My teacher was great, really laid back awesome guy. It was an all and all good time. Any drug information was presented as projects so the students did all the research and shared/ debated with each other.
