umm the facts simply arenyt true, bush sr left clinton a huge deficit, whick clinton turned into the largest surplus in our history..which then w. bush tiened right back into the biggest deficit in history..
& i wasaround duruing reagonomics & trust me, the economy & his theories simply didnt work..
maybe if your like a rich hippy they might..but for most of us it was hell

simple, look it up.. bush jr, has our tressent defficit so high thatt igf the trend continues we will be totaly bankrupt, & our entire economy will be owned by foreign investors
look up the economic trends of the past 30 or so years, you'll see a downswing throughout reggan, anfd bush sr, up during cklinton, actualy for the frst time in a very long toime climbing into a surplous. then in comes bush jr & a spiral dive at terminal velocity

Depends on what you refer to as "better".

Reagen was the best economically, Clinton had the best foreign policy with few international military involvements (compared to the two Bushes).

    How about a fifth option?

    None of the above.

Way to give the crappiest presidents in Americas history as an option.

You know who's the best president? Carter. He might have been a dud, but he actually cared for the rest of the world. Bush, Bush, and Reagan only intervined when it was convinent and Clinton ignored more genocides then any other president in our history.

I'm certainly not going to vote for a republican just because they might help out on an international crisis every now and then either, because conservatives have horrible domestic policy.

Jesus, I understand president must be a hard job, but I don't see why we elect worse and worse people every time.

I'm gonna go take a shower. [IMG]

yes, carter kicked ass. i also like the roosevelts. but as crappy as clinton was, i think he was our best modern president. and if the economy is all you have to factor a president on, it's too bad you're a money breathing, capitalistic, ignoramus. if you knew anything about economics, you'd know that it's like a roller coaster. the economy naturally peaks and recesses on it's own, without the guidence of a president.

you make a good point. most everyone likes reagan. i dont, but just about everyone else in the world does. at least he held the country together. with w. the country is split right down the middle, and that isnt good for anyone.

well..at least i think we can mostly agree that w is the worst.. not only did he split the country in 1/2 but he took us from being one of the most respected countries in the world, to the single most hated, the entire world is laughing at us..who can blame them?

So much of it is the time they got to be president. I don't think Clinton was that great, but he was in charge during the tech boom, during which the US economy was growing at an unbelievable (and unnatural) rate. Reagan wasn't that great (at all) but he was a good actor, and could play the part of leader during a major recession, and then cap it all off with his heroic speach at the Berlin wall....but those were terrible times in the 80's, thanks in part to his policies.

I agree that Carter was the best person who has been president in the last few decades, he may no have done that well in most peoples eyes, but when people like W. talk about Christian values I have to laugh, Carter had the REAl christian value of compassion....now he's an old man and he's out building houses for the poor....I don't think you'd see W helping an old lady to cross the road.

    W. makes his dad, and all of the other presidents look like geniuses.

I don't know who was best, probably Clinton, but its easy to see who the worst is.

that is possibly the most ill-informed and ignorant remark made on this thread, which is truly saying something. if he couldn't control the economy then how do u propose he is able to rip off trillions of dollars per annum in taxpayers' money for himself, his family and his friends? keep dreaming sonny jim, it's the economy stupid.

I'm not saying he was a great president, i'm saying he would be my choice out of that list.

You are concerned with different things than me, I could give a fuck about gun laws.

quote: The tech boom would had happen any way regardless who the president was .

Thats what I was saying please read my posts a little more thoroughly before having a knee-jerk reaction, thanks.
