Why do some people think they are above everyone else? Why do some people think that their morals are right and others are sub human if their morals are different? Why do some people talk bad about others behind their backs instead of confronting the issue with the originator of said issue? I just wish that ego-centric people could see the hypocrisy when they bad mouth others that aren't "as good as they are"... Consider these some ponderables for the day.
Why? Because people want to feel superior or unique, especially in this society where no one treats the other like an individual anymore, but as a mere disturbance. You cannot blame people for such a weakness.
Yep. You honestly cannot blame people for trying to justify their existence. Everyone is equally lost. Few people just accept this... almost everyone tries to justify their own beliefs to themselves by acting upon them and belittling anyone who disagrees. You must realize that disagreeing with someone's beliefs, especially if the person is very religious, is like disagreeing with their entire existence and everything they know to be true and real. I'm not saying that you shouldn't disagree, I'm just saying that there are two sides to every coin.
Yeah, and I am just thinking out loud here. I agree with both of you. I think sometimes people get caught up in their own self righteousness, and they lose patience with those that do not fit their narrow idea of what a person should be like. If I am ever condescending to anyone on here (in a non joking manner) please call me on it.
There are, and I try my best to never argue with people about their opinions. I argue facts. Everything else is just a reason to talk forever and get angry at people.
Because the world isn't fair. If it was, those people wouldn't be here and life would be fucking boring
Yes, exactly. Religion is something that should be discussed, not argued. It is sad that people try to find the "Best" religion, or just see the negative within a religion. I must admit, I used to be a very militant atheist, but then I grew up. Also, I can easily see a lot of negative within all religions... but what most people fail to realize is that one person does not represent all of their religion. It amazes me how people judge a harmless christian by all of the evil christianity has done over thousands of years. (The same with any other religion). The point is... must religious people are completely harmless. Religion just gives them something to base their life on, for a lack of anything better. Not everyone is enough of a free thinking independent person to create his own ideas of the world without religious help. The problem is the group action.... but here's the key: Religion is easy to blame for destruction... it's easy to label... it's there. But if you put a group of atheists together, they can do the same damage... this is not a matter of religion, it's a matter of group mentality. Humans in groups are extremely destructive.
Yes... willful ignorance. I saw a bumper sticker once which cracked me up: "It's not Jesus I have a problem with, it's his fan club"
checkers, planting flowers, tasting cheese, drinking, driving, sports...really, i'm better at everything
