Why don't people smoke with Steamrollers more often?

I saw a guy with one the other day and it looked pretty fun, but I didn't get to try it then.
I hadn't ever seen one or even heard of one before.
So I took a pringles can last night and made a steam roller outa it and it was so friggen awsome.

so the question is why arnt they more common?

 

I love my glass steamroller. A bunch of my friends also have steamrollers. I'd say they are fairly popular and common here in Denver. I think it just depends on your location and the group of smokers you associate with.

 

yeah, I live out here in LA. I been smoking for years but didn't see one till just a week ago... I'm currently looking for one in my local head shops.

 

I'm sure you've already considered this but if you can't find one in a local headshop, internet headshops will solve your problem. However, i like holding glass before I buy so the online option isn't my boat, that's for sure.

 

yeah, I don't like buying pieces over the internet for the same reason. I wanna check it out in person first. Also, I'd worry about it breaking in the mail. I know that chance is slim, but still.....

a friend of mine said he saw some in venice, so I'm gunna smoke a J after work and drive over there.

How much do steamrollers over there cost?

 

I've seen them as cheap as around 30 bucks. However, for a little nicer one they are about 55-75. I think I paid 60 for mine a few years back. But like with any glass piece, you can find a pipe for as much as you wanna spend.

 

yeah im gonna get one for 60 this week comming up. its real thick and its about 7 inches long and it has a glass tree on it. the only problem with the steemrollers ive seen is they have a small bowl.

 

True, the bowl tends to be smaller than on your typical piece. However, most steamsrollers have a large enough bowl to sufficiently please you and a couple of pals.

 

Because it's dead. :-( Thanks for reminding me you piece of shit! lol jk but I watched my mad nice steamroller, it was like 10 inches long or so, and it had a design of a caterpillar on the outside sitting on a mushroom smoking a bong, and inside the bong there was color changing glass that eventually made it look smoky inside the chamber of the bong he was holding. Then on the inside, the bowl went in, the smoke drew through a caterpillar's ass and out his mouth into yours. Well one day I was laughing my balls off at how funny the air looked (dosed out on 2c-e) and I watched it roll off my bed through the air in a mad psychedelic fashion and when it hit the floor the caterpillar on the inside broke off.

 

my friend used to have a steamroller with a dragons head inside. unfortunately his brother dropped it and the dragons neck snapped...

I'd suggest going to Dementia instead of Venice. Venice shops dont have as large of a selection, and Dementia has some of the sickest glass in the world, especially the Malibu one. Also, if you are getting a name brand piece you have a chance of getting fake shit from venice.

 

Me and my friend made one with a wrapping paper tube at xmas. Omg it got us so baked. You cant really tell how much smoke is in the tube with the wrapping paper so you just take monster, lung wrenching hits.

 

Me and my friends ocasionaly make one out of a toilet paper role. when we got no rollies or anything. It works pretty nicely, but id rather smoke out of a real glass or metal one.

 

actualy, I work like 5 minutes from Dementia in malibu, I go there once in a while on my lunch break. They had a few steam rollers, but none were that impressive, all of the holes on them were about the size of regular pipes, and not like bongs. (the home made steamroller I'm using now hits more like a bong and I really like that).
The biggest problem with dementia is the price, some of their stuff is really expensive, but they are pretty good. I did buy my Favorite bong, Hookah, and a couple pipes there tho (at the malibu one in fact).
My favorite smoke shop tho is Captian Ed's, but its all the way in the valley, but my girlfriend lives a few blocks from it, so its cool.
I didn't get a chance to go to venice the other day, but I think I'm gunna go today....
