Why in the name of all things sacred???

I recently realised how much I hate living in America. I want to be from Europe, more specifically the UK. I don't understand why I was born here if I hate it so much. Why?

If you just recently realised it why does it matter where you were born?

I think the UK has a pretty liberal immagration policys towards US citizens, its never too late to move.

 

I don't recall having a say in where I was born....anyway, could be a lot worse.

 

I know I didn't have a say in the matter. I just think that "God" was being mean when he put me in America. Why would he do that if he knew i would hate it.

I'm not sure god decides these things.....have you been to the UK before, what would be so much better there? Just curious.

 

I don't know exactly why I want to be from the UK. I have always just loved the idea of being from there.
As far as what is better, I could walk barefoot anywhere and not be told I can't be served or I have to leave just because of my lack of shoes.

actully, god was pretty nice... it could be worse, you could be in a country thats being bombed constantly. At least in america women are free to do what they want, dress how they like and are equals to men. I'm not saying I love america, personally I want to move to another country too. lol I think its probably because we're tired and bored of the same old stuff, maybe thats why we want to leave?

I don't see being born in the United States as "God being mean." Give me a break. You could live in China and work in a sweat shop for crying out loud. "God" could have made you a Jew in Nazi Germany. It could have been A LOT worse, my friend. As far as I'm concerned, you're actually lucky.

I fucking don't know. I'm sure there is a member here that lives in the U.K. get with them and leave the rest of us who are fine with ourselves alone.

 

I'm not sure the barefoot laws are much different there....the times I've been to England I haven't really noticed a bunch of feet grossing me out at a restaurant.


Given the fact that the English are a bit more tasteful than Americans on the whole, i wouldn't think they would allow that either.

 

my grandmother and her whole family were appalled every time they saw me out of bed at all without at least slippers on.


silly children, wishing to be from somewhere else because supposedly within their group somewhere else, usually the UK, has more social cache because it comes with an accent. i've met scores of these kids. why can't they be more original as say "i wish i was from bolivia!" or "i wish i was from luxembourg!"

 

Yeah wanting to move so you can walk barefooted everywhere seems a little absurd to me. Just move to a hick town in like alabma or somthing. Im from south carolina. People don't really care about your feel, they care more at gas stations than restauraunts. Move to ashville NC. When I visited there theres hippies everywhere. No shoes(on people other than I), but I went hiking alot up there, try not wearing shoes for hiking, that would be a bad situation. Im sure america has some feet friendly places. Try travelling in the country before you make a broad generalization like "america sucks because people dont like me not wearing shoes."


Im sure canada might welcome you too, just have shoes on when you cross the border.

come to think on it, i never wear shoes. no one oever gives a shit. i guess maybe it's because i'm just so used to not wearing shoes that i don't make a point of drawing attention to the fact that i'm not wearing shoes. you know, htose subtle little bits of body language. it's not a movement or statement for me, it's just how i am. healthier for your feet in may cases. i got dave to stop wearing shoes all the time, and he NEVEr gets athlete's foot anymore.

 

The problem with not getting athletes foot anymore is that it is difficult ot find another itch that can give you a near orgasm by scratching it.....i had to get some head lice just to get my fix

I've noticed that in a beach town the rules about feet are much more lax.
