hey why does eating weed have a longer effect than smoking it, and why does it get u waay higher(thats what i hear i never ate weed b4)
i read about it somewhere. when the THC goes through your digestive system (the liver, in particular) it is converted to some other cannaboid which primairly effects a different part of the brain I believe, and lasts longer. the high from eating is usually actually less intense, and has been from my experience. this is basically because the digestive process is alot slower than smoking, and produces more of a time-released effect that lasts longer. Smoking, conversely provides direct and immediate acess to the blood stream, and hence more concentration of cannaboids EDIT: while the high is less intense, it is definitely enjoyable and noticably different. more relaxed and euphoric in my experience. however, i've only eaten brownies twice, once i got them from a friend and once me and a friend made them with schwag.
teh reason it lasts longer is because it is being administered over a longer period of time. it stretches the high over a longer period of time, and this is why you need to eat considerable amount more than you would need to smoke, but lasts longer. and yeh some of the cannabinoids would be converted into slightly different ones. its like any drug. if you eat it, it lasts longer but if you smoke it, you can get high off much less, but it goes away much faster
oh and the slow administration to your brain will effect the way it progressively alters your neurology, building up over the various sites of your brain, instead of flooding all parts at once
Burning weed causes some of the THC and other cannabinoids to be destroyed, because the flame is too hot, at least hotter than what you'd need for maximum THC vaporization. The extra heat just destroys it, which is why vaporizers are supposed to be way better, because it uses a more precise temperature. Also, you never inhale all the smoke so some is lost anyways between hits, or in smoke you exhale. But when you eat it, the THC isn't destroyed by heat. And it isn't lost in exhaled smoke or smoke lost inbetween hits. Even so, digestion is a slower process and spreads it out over a longer time. I bet the difference in effects is probably at least somewhat attributed to the fact that you aren't burning it, so the chemical reactions are different and produce different resulting compounds.
i dont know what your guys' experiences with weed food have been, but from my expoeriences its something like this. Weed food, when properly done gets you fucking stoned. For a long time and soooooo stoned. You do not need to eat alot as Stonerbill makes it sound, as long as you have potent food. One brownie in certain cases will take most pepole to a new high level for a long period of time. Im talkin about baaaked!!! Oh yeah and I think the reason it lasts long cuz you were wondering is that it works like a pill would you know, however that works. Weed food is amazing.
