In a show of cooperation between Anonymous and Wikileaks, today Wikileaks released 5 million emails from the security and "intelligence" company, Stratfor. The emails were hacked by Anonymous earlier this year. Last December, the credit card details of more than 30,000 subscribers to Stratfor publications were posted on the Internet, including those of former U.S. secretary of state Henry Kissinger and former U.S. vice president Dan Quayle.

To be clear, so far they have only publicly released 214 emails. The rest have been handed over to news organizations to sort thru. So more releases will be forthcoming.

Not that i don't appreciate their efforts but Wikileaks hardly post anything of relevance. I guarantee most of those emails (if not all) is just "intelligence" gossip and wont bare any political fruit - tho i'd love to be wrong.

Here's an interesting tidbit I just found...

That is the VERY CRUX of how our system works. Nobody gets into a position of power in the USA unless they are under financial, sexual or psychological control by others. That is why you see such a poor selection of candidates being put forth (esp. by Republicans). They have to find people they can CONTROL, one way or another.

    Read about Mexico's "Hippie Bombers"
    http://wikileaks.org/gifiles/docs/5512760_-ct-mexico-hippy-bombers-.html

Apparently, multinational corporations in Mexico have been targets of IEDs and other destructive actions by a group of Mexican anarchists...

Man, this shit is a GOLD MINE of info on our corrupt government and corporations and info that is being repressed!

I find it very revealing that NO US MEDIA OUTLET has reported on this group and their activities. Could it be censorship so that US groups don't get the same ideas?

I would guess that with the release of these emails, and the revelation of so many sources, this company is finished in this security business.

Considering they couldn't even secure their own emails, how could anyone trust them?

So they'll just rename the company like Blackwater did, and continue with biz as usual, until the next hack job!

It's a treasure trove of truth if for no other reason than it provides insight into the culture of these private intelligence firms and the bastards that employ them. If I were the Yes Men, I would be very pleased with the number of emails with "bhopal" and "The Yes Men" in the subject heading. This should only serve to embolden and encourage this kind of activism - obviously the bastards recognize a real threat to their modus operandi. What kills me is the way that the press tries to emphasis the underhanded tactics of Wikileaks, but they fail to even acknowledge the essential shadiness of "intelligence firms", and the corporations and "think tanks" (love that clever euphimism - they should be called agenda and propaganda tanks) that employ them. The very existence of firms like Strafor and AIM is proof enough that there is something very wrong happening here. Wikileaks, Annonymous, The Yes Men and their ilk are only reasonable and justifiable reactions to this kind of nonsense, and yet they will continue to be demonized.

Here's the perfect example of that, from the CEO of Stratfor...calling for Julian Assange to be waterboarded and incarcerated at Gitmo.

How is this company providing unbiased intelligence to our government, when its leader has this kind of attitude?

Wow. Now Assange has documented evidence that the US is, in fact, trying to get him from Sweden. I hope his defense team hits them hard.

    FINALLY!!!

Activist organizations cooperating and making headway. Personally I'd be thrilled to see Anonymous, the Yes Men, Tommy Chong, Michael Moore, Wikileaks, Julian Assange, & the Occupy Movement all get together and rumble with fire & vengeance & 100% commitment & assurance against the US government.

We need a Libertarian/Socialist/Anarcho-Syndicalist/Collectivist form of government, or a lack thereof to be more accurate. Fuck Obama & Newt Gingrich equally.

I approve of these men, Julian Assange and Bradley Manning.

I approve of them because secrets are automatically bad. If you're doing the right thing, you don't have to hide it. Secrets are to be dragged out into the light of day, just to see which parts wiggle when exposed to sunlight.

Truths should be told...And in a nation that supposedly enshrines journalism and freedom of speech, the idea that Manning is in prison and Assange is on the run is an abomination.
