Will you embrace it for all its beauty or grumble at its coldness and just try to hide it out to avoid it?
I embraced the only real winter I ever saw. Every chance I could get I was wandering through the snowy hills in a pair of sneakers and coming home with blue feet, sitting by the fire and reading for a few hours.
There's much to enjoy about the winter season, including clear cool nights, not to mention toasty fires.
not looking forward to driving in snow/ice, or the -40 thats inevitably coming in january or february sometime, but beyond that winters kinda fun. well, for the first while. 5 months of it is a bit much sometimes
Driving on snow and ice is not to bad, it is the other moron drivers on the road that pisses me off. Other than that I am very much looking forward to winter, got the ice fishing supplies ready.
I love winter, however the winter we get around here is so crap. The more snow the better I think, but we never get any snow in England.. sucks.
i will embrace it and revel in it for as long as possible. here in texas we only get like 2-3 months of truly cold weather. However, I am not looking forward to my sister keeping the heater on like 80.
haha, that's just crazy. It reminds me of my roommate in Ottawa. I could never sleep, our place was like a sauna.
I am so excited that winter is here. Best hiking weather, the snakes are in for the winter, although I will miss them, they will be back. I am looking forward to some hikes in the rain and maybe this year I will head up to the mountains and do some skiing. That probably will not happen. But I know for sure I am headed out to Death Valley this winter and hiking to the downed Albatross. Death Valley is only hiking accesible in the winter, cause 130 degrees in the summer is too hot.
i know. I closed the vent in my room, and she actually complained that since I closed my vent she got too much heat in her room, but she wouldnt lower the heat. stupidity. I also told her i would be keeping a window open if she didnt keep the heat down, which in turn would get the power bill more expensive whick her boyfriend has to pay.. I mean for fucks sake, put some socks on.
I'm ok with winter. I'm more of a summer person...but I like the cycles a lot. I am excited for hiding inside from the cold and blizzards drinking tea, baking, knitting, and lieing in puddles of friends to stay warm...and boozy hot chocolate. little nervous though...winnipeg is really cold. really really cold. like the coldest it gets if you are not in Alaska, Nunavut, Northwest territorys, yukon kind of arctic-y areas....
ill take your word for it, i havent driven on snow or ice yet, hence the nervousness about it. i really enjoy winter, up until the end of january or early feb. then im tired of it, and just want it to go away. by the end of feb im usually clawing the walls in frustration. ok, well, not quite... winter depression means that by then im usually laying on the couch staring sullenly at the gray sky. whee!!!
