Whats that surgury like? Iam feeling a shitload of pain, like sharp pain in the back of my mouth where my wisdom teeth seem to pop in. Whats that like?
one two three, yank. if your under you will not feel a thing, takes 20minutes for an average dentist, and patient with no real dental issues...
The surgery is quick and easy. Not much pain after, but they still give you meds. So get ready to get fucked up on nitrous during the surgery and hydrocodone for a few days afterwords .
I was really nervous about getting my teeth out but it wasn't bad at all. I couldn't eat for a week after, my bro was back to nromal after 2 days though, depends on your body. The only downside I had was the vicodin made me sick because I wasn't eating anything
Mine hurt a lot. Loads of people I know complained about the pain, have you guys actually had proper wisdom teeth or what? I really hurt! They were deep in my jaw.
Mine has been hurting for the past couple of days, and I was pretty happy reading this thread..... until this post Thanks, really made my fear less intense :toetap05:
Can't lie, I had a bad experience. But then I am a wimp at the dentist, the last time she had to inject me four times before she could go to work on my teeth You'll be fine... or not, that's the fun of it :reddevil:
^^^ why so many injections? due to anxiety? or ..? that makes me nervous because i'm a scaredy cat at the dentist too i have 4 impacted wisdom teeth that haven't fully come through the gums they're fuckin up my mouth but i have no health ins right now so i pretend like i don't give a fuck when really it actually kinda blows
I'd rather think it's all good, until I am there with no way to escape! When I was little, I needed a milk tooth out as the other was already growing, and she gave me quite a few injections, and it still hurt Now I really, really, really don't them. Hopefully, I won't need it out.
Oh and also, I requested a valium drip. It was lovely. I work up mid-surgery when they were pulling harddd on one tooth, and I just looked at the dr, waved and then got knocked back out haha. Not a care in the world.
All of mine were impacted. I just have good pain tolerance and hydrocodone plus weed really fucks me up haha, I don't even remember it hurting afterwords except when I ate the first few times.
The last time was a filling, not anything to do with my wisdom teeth. It just wouldn't go numb, but I think my dentist thinks i'm a wimp anyways I think I was just unlucky, mine just plain and simple hurt. As I stated above, I get a lot of injections, I don't think they stick to well with me- could have used one more perhaps!
I had 8 teeth pulled including my wisdom teeth and it wasn't too bad. Just a little frustrating really. You won't feel a thing during the operation if they put you under anesthetics. Afterwards, you may have numb lips and chin, spit out blood and whatnot, but the pain medicine can be enjoyable. You'll get over it in a few days a be able to eat everything you like soon. Make sure not to smoke within at least the first four days or you could get dry socket! Ideally you should wait a week. I ended up getting a small infection because I smoked early. I took it very carefully though so I guess I avoided the dry socket.
first of all, you can be put under if you are really nervous. I was awake for my wisdoms (two impacted, got all 4 out at the same time) and the crunching/ breaking for the impacted ones would probably nauseate most people. not me, lol, i like my dentist. if you are awake for it, you will get an anesthetic fired right into your jaw. that sucks pretty good, they'll tell you its a little pinch, but its a big pinch. then your jaw goes all numb and you wait for the anesthetic to really settle in. then they pull them. impacted ones need to be broken apart, and the pieces removed, so they take a little longer. technically you can smoke (gently) before you pull out the gauze. personally i wait until the clot is fully formed and it stops seeping blood, i heal pretty quick so its about 2 days for me. the thing is suction is whats bad, sucking the soft scab off exposes nerve endings and isnt worth the risk for a lot of people. you could have someone else draw your bonghits for you or something. the biggest bit of advice i will give you, is get that first percoset or vicodin into your body as soon as you can. we were delayed getting to the pharmacy when i had my wisdoms out, and the anesthetic wore off. i was a mess, had to take 2 percosets (i was 16 and slender, so that was rather a lot) to get them to kick in. so expedite the 'getting the prescription' process.
