poor kids, man. all she wanted was to get them a gaming system thingie. WTF?! now they have to live with the fact that their mother was a loving, well-intentioned dumbass who's going to be the butt of some very mean jokes.
well, on the other hand, if she would have won the gaming system, maybe they would have had a freak accident with that thing. after all, it is a WII.
the organisers are responsible for this, they should have researched it properally before hand, I bet they face a law suit, not that, that would make up for anything S
how are they responsible? i bet the contestants signed a statement before they started drinking the water and one of the contestants says the people told them not to put there health in jeopardy. this is tragic, but definately not the organizers fault - they didn't force anyone to drink any water.
I bet the organisers had no idea one of them could die from it. they shouldn't be holding competitions where there is that risk, its totally their fault S
theres risk in playing a football game risk in sailing around the world risk in riding a mechanical bull you can tragically die in any of those events listed above and they all have competitions, plus hundreds of more events. she was 28, she had personal repsonsibility to gage how far she wanted to push herself and she ultimately paid the price for it.
a TON of people don't know water will kill you and I'm sure the radio station did not have anyone sign anything due to risks nor mention to them hey this will kill you.
do the baseball game organizers realize that at any point during the game any spectator could recieve massive skull fractures from a foul or home run ball? as far as i know the only disclaimers are on the back of official tickets. it could happen in any little league game or HS game or whatever. what about when people win dinners?? do they make them sign waivers that if they get sick on whatever restaurant they sennt them to that they arent liable?
no one thinks they'll die from water intoxication, because people tend to think that drinking water is harmless, if the radio station had consulted a doctor my bet is the advise would be its too risky to do. a woman with 3 kids knowing how dangerous it would be probably wouldn't have touched it. the 3 examples you have given above the risks are more clearly seen, hwoever the radio station is responsible because they failed to take the proper safety precautions. a guy over here has just been prosicuted for making an inflatable maze, there was a strong gust of wind it took off because it wasn't held to the ground. the people going in didn't realise they where taking a risk. risk to health is very vague anyway, i wonder how many people would have done it if they knew how risky it was. you watch the radio station will pay, as they should S
a TON of people don't know a mechanical bull can kill you either, but theres contests where theres drunks getting up there and riding the bull. at some point, they can fall off and land wrong and instantly die you can say this statement for so many different things: a TON of people don't know this, a TON of people don't know that. i'm tired of people trying to blame others for there own choices they make - she made the choice to play the game, she died in a very rare case of water intoxicfication
we don't know if the station didn't tell them the risks beforehand. there was one guy who was a contestant who said that the radio station told them not to risk there health...she did and died again, she chose to play the game. she didn't have to. i leave it to personal responsibility
Ignorance is no excuse. I am not aware there is a murderer behind me. but in five seconds ill be dead.
The bull is common sense and a TON of bars make you sign a waver, be 18 and so on or at least have signs sayin hey if you fall off and get a barstool shoved in your ass it aint our fault. i didnt blame anyone i just said a wrongful death suit can/may/will/should come from this. this is no different than someone tellin u hey try this drink and ill give you a million in cash, u try it and turns out it was something you were fataly allergic to.. If its stating the obvious you're tired of since i most certainly blamed no one in anyway, then well woops.
