How many of you colour your hair? And what is your hair type? Volumous, curly, straight, thick, thin, very textured? Do you find your hair difficult to work with? Thanks
i think sign related is his name. that guy that comes on from time to time and makes threads consisting of a long list of random questions on a subject...
I dye mine every six months or so. I have baby fine hair but tons of it and my hair is naturally straight except for that one curl at the base of my neck.
I do not colour treat my hair, and I never have. It's changing I think. It's losing its redness and I think it's because I'm poor, I can scarcely afford to eat meat or fancy shampoos. It's thick, kinky, breaks fairly easily, I lose at least 100 hairs a day on my head. It's difficult to manipulate and stay in place, it's incredibly slippery and looks terrible with gel, spray and/or mousse product in it. Products just makes my hair look stiff, wet and turns my red colour into a light brown-like colour. I typically wear it long, I straighten it when I want it to look sleek and smooth, which takes me at least a half hour to do my full head. I've been investigating getting a perm (not the kinky poodle-perms of the 80s), the kind of modern perms women are getting where you can gauge the type of loose curls you want and it lasts up to 6 months. I have the best kind of hair for a perm apparently, never been coloured and it's thick, so the perm would take better. I'm considering getting a perm at the lower ends of my locks, something that looks natural, but I'm afraid of what the chemicals will do to my hair and my skin. I need a change though. I wear my hair down or up, essentially and I want to give some shape at the bottom and thin it out with curly layers. What are you thinking of doing with yours, Cate?
Oh and I always make sure I have a wash and go kind of hairstyle. I never use any products on my hair.
I have brown hair naturally, I'm trying to get it back to the orginal colour after dying it every 6 weeks since I was in grade 7. I have TONS of fucking hair, so much that I have a undercut (which is growing out) I never go out and get it cut properly. It's kinda wavy, I always have it up at home, seeing as I'm always baking cake, I don't like my hair in the icing.
aristartle, why would you want to eat fancy shampoos...? i have dark brown hair and have died it many times tho it is currently its natural color. it is pretty fine and very thick and wavy/curly... it is pretty manageable most of the time but i have to wash and condition it every day or two.
coloured to exhaustion, but still healthy a sikly. completely straight, not a curl to be found. very fine, but loads of it. impossible to work with.
I have long, thick wavy/curly hair.. it's naturally dry and needs to be hydrated a lot. It's quite manageable, as long as I use a little mousse after shampoo and conditioner. Sometimes I let it all wavy or I'll straighten it.. or tie it.
Also, right now my hair is at its natural color, which is dark brown. I dye it a couple times a year, usually.. and it depends on my phase what color..
i used to colour my hair, but i got lazy two years of fire engine red was good enough for me. i have gotten bleach highlights a couple times and liked those, and i might get some strawberry blonde lowlights when im feeling richer... mines mostly straight, but wavy in the back. so, the back is never straight like the front and i cant make the front hold curl like the back >.> and oddly thick for a natural blonde hard to work with, well, i dont usually bother doin gmuch with it so i guess not. im mostly too lazy to do more than either nothing, a hair band, a ponytail or two braids to keep it out of my face i suck at doing fancy stuff with my own hair i use fancy salon shampoo and conditioner... back to basics raspberry almond is freakin awesome for my hair. it naturally goes a bit dry and this totally keeps it normal and sweet
I desperately need a haircut right now. i'm thinking of doing a short bob again. Right now it's really blah, growing out and a little past my shoulders. it's naturally kinda light brown, and i go through phases of dying it. it's super thick and hard to manage unless i get it thinned out a lot when i get haircuts. it's also straight with a slight wave to it. the weight of it usually keeps it pretty straight. i don't use too many products lately, but if i'm going out i'll run a straightening iron through it and use some smoothing cream.
i used to dye my hair. right now it's all natural. the dark stuff you can see at the roots is the natural color, the lighter stuff towards the ends is where i last dyed it and now i'ts way faded to look almost blondish. i wash it once a week and i don't ever brush it. it's perfect!
I don't dye my hair, but I'm not opposed to it. It's thick and wavy with layers. It used to be hard to work with, but I think I've found the perfect haircut for it! Right now it's shoulder length. I can brush it now without it turning into frizz. I love that.
I do color my hair. It''s a little difficult to stop once you have started because of re-growth so I do continue to do cut/color on a fairly regular basis - usually every few months. At the moment, it is a deep violet purple. My hair is naturally pretty thick and wavy. I never curl or strighten it and I don't know how to plait it, or braid or or any of that stuff so I only ever wear it down. It is pretty easy to work with since I don't do anything else too damaging to it.
i used to dye my hair all the time when i was younger....i had it any and every color that you could ever imagine...the last time i dyed my hair (even highlights) was about 4 years ago.....my hair is baby fine, but i have a bunch of it....naturally my hair is straight, but sometimes it gets a bit of a wave to it....and i do have one stubborn part right at my right temple that tends to curl when i sweat or when i blow dry my hair it tends to be really stubborn
