aiden just went poop in the potty. i havent been persistent or trying to make him use the potty i just go with the flow for the past couple days he has been taking off his diaper and running to his potty chair and sitting on it and going potty. he has a book that shows him how to go potty and he sits down and looks at it a couple minutes before he takes off his diaper to go potty. i am so exstatic and happy that aiden is pretty much potty training himself. do you think it's too early to get him into regular undies and put rubbers over????
Nah, I've heard of kids potty training themselves and wearing underwear at 10 months. If he is ready, go for it. Hooray for no more diapers!
yey! good for aiden and good for no more daipers....though, I guess you won't be daiper free for too long happyjoy~ 10 months? wow! Leane doesn't even know what the heck she's doing half the time she poops...
how old is he? my son is three, and doesnt want anything to do with the potty. books, video, coming to the bathroom with me.. nothing works, BUT he is a little stinker cause when I put him to bed ad say my good nights to him I shut the door and I hear him say, Daddy I need to go potty. he says that to get out of bed and play more and nothing else. I dont know what to do anymore..
aiden is 19 months and i never pushed or made aiden go on the potty i just showed him t how to stay seated on the potty and go pee or poo. also i have only one book that illistrates a lil boy going potty and usually right before he uses the potty chair he would look at the book a couple times then go over by the gate so that i can open it and he runs to the potty chair takes his diaper off and sits down. maybe try not pushing it on him so much (im not saying you are but cut back on all the videos and books and maybe just show him one) or ask him why he doesn't like to use the potty like a big maybe he likes having someone changing him. good luck FF
Oh my goodness, congratulations! Heck, one of my twins who is almost 3.5 years old still won't use the potty! My twin daughter has been using the potty for months now, and my oldest son was almost 3 before he was using the potty without any accidents whatsoever. So you've got an early one! Congrats!
thanx. it's so interesting i dont even push it on him he just does it. i try to stay consistent with him i ask him if he needs to go potty if he doesn't use the potty that day it's ok but maybe tomorrow he will feel the need to so maybe in a couple months he will be up to big boy underwear.
It's cool he made a poop in the potty. It is a little premature to abandon the diapers, though. Soemtimes kids DO potty learn at this age, but it may have been a really rare thing, and you don't want him to get dissapointed, when he starts peeing and pooping in the underpants. I left my kids in diapers for a while after they really learned to go potty. And for up to a year after they learned the potty in the day, I used diapers at night, too, with one or two of the kids.
