Ok, first off--I am not of New Zealand origin--though I would love to know pretty much whatever New Zealanders would like to offer me (resourceful information). I am not looking for traveling information. To be direct--I am currently trying to write a novel and one of my characters is from New Zealand--Auckland in particular. The last thing I'd want is to be wrong with wording in my story. So I guess what I am trying to find out is, how would a NZ male converse with a woman vs conversing with a friend/buddy. If I am in the wrong site for this sort of help--can anyone point me in the right direction. (Recommendations to any NZ forums, sites, or communities etc...) Thanks in advance!
My recommendation - seek out books and blogs by Kiwi authors and get reading. There will be no better research. Blogs for speech-patterns (although written) and books for culture. Best of luck!
