wtf, torrents?

seirously? i got an invitation to demonoid. thats cool, there's lots of good stuff on there. i'm downloading a lot of nova, and i found a folder allegedly full of the "top 100" pictures from the hubble telescope. its only partway downloaded, but so far there are some REALLY cool space pictures in there!

and also a few pictures of girls in various states of undress.

wtf?

not that i mind some naked girls...but really? who decides to put these two themes together, and why? i wonder how many people got the porn they didn't want

 

Maybe those semi dressed women were photographed by the hubble? *laughs*

 

i used to type at a chick years ago that worked on the hubble.. she was a freak..lol maybe she put the pics together..lol

 

um, why are you giving me a link to TPB? who uses torrents but doesn't know how to get there?

if you're not looking for porn, demonoid is better as far as i can tell. faster downloads and such. no straightforward porn on it (must be against rules, but apparently there is some hidden in other files)

if you ARE looking for porn, extratorrent is better, imo

 

I often get download speeds of 400k+ on piratebay

If demonoid gets close to a full megabit I am there

 

it depends on who is seeding, how many people, etc. and what you're looking for, also.

on piratebay you can get some great speeds, but only if its something really recent and popular, usually, or something that has maintained enough popularity for a long enough time that lots and lots of people are seeding.

earlier i found a collection of nova programs (the PBS science show) and was getting 600+kB/s - from a sole seeder. unfortunately the guy logged off or something, but it was downloading extremely fast.

you need an invitation code to register there, though, unfortunately.

a certain guy who is known for occasionally relaying gave me an invite earlier today.

 

All the best torrent sites are invite only. I used to be on this fairly exclusive one, you would max your connection speed on pretty much any torrent, unless you had a gigabit line. 4mb/s is a beautiful thing to behold.

I use mininova and tpb now, at least the public torrent sites will actually give you decent speeds most of the time these days.. used to be you wouldn't get more than 50kb/s on TPB.
