Who here likes yard sales and thrift stores? If you do, whats the coolest thing youve ever found at a yard sale or thrift store? If you dont, why not?
as in.. shove loads of old stuff on to tables on your front lawn n sell it? i have never seen one.. we have car boot sales.. where everyone drives to a field n sells shit from the back of their car/a table..
that sounds like pretty much the same thing...just not in the front yards. i got a beeper yesterday at this catholic school yard sale for .25 cents lmao.
i like them. the saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" is true. The coolest thing I ever found was a rare/old U2 item. (The tape single of Mysterious ways). Nice little thing for me collection.
some yardsales are shit and it's just old ladies trying to sell things they've knitted but then there's some that are run by an old guy with a beard and he's got the most awesome shit you could ever imagine that you can't find in a store and it's all mega cheap
i bough a sword shaped letter opener for 2 pounds and an antique style pistol, u know pirates of the carribean style for a fiver theyre the coolest things, i bough loads of little shitties too tho
my boyfriend bought a bong from a yard sale that was being sold as some kind of wine holder or something. he also bought a kick ass trench coat at goodwill. i'm more of a flea market kind of person, i've a bunch of "vote for nixon" pins and an antique locket that i'm in love with.
I bought my Bubbler from a yard sale (garage sale in aus) for $7 also got a nice pipe for free from them.
i volunteer at a small church thrift store 3 days a week.. you wouldnt believe all the good stuff people bring in and drop off... i have to admit im a bit of a collector so i do buy some of it...its a good thing i only volunteer a lil bit or i would have to build a bigger house...lololol
most of my clothes come from yardsales, thrift stores, flea markets, goodwill, etc. i love secondhand stuff. they always have great books, too. and sometimes you can find a good musical instrument. i always buy the shirts that have some slogan on it that i don't understand like 'i'm for margaret' or 'i didn't hit it in 1998' lol
I had a yardsale with my brother yesterday! It's kinda weird thinking that other people might being wearing my clothes today but whatever, we made almost 300 dollars!
i just had a yard sale recently and sold my drum kit, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, 2 keyboards, and an amp for $70 whoever didn't go to my yard sale missed out on a fucking steal!!!!!!
when i go to yard sales, i buy anything i think i could use ever in my life. thrif stores are pretty cool too. i go with my friends all the time. you never know what you can find there. i also loveeeee good will. i got 12 articles of clothing for six bucks and one really awesome pair of green linen overalls. those are my loveeeeee. i regret not wearing them as much as i used to.
