okay so im having a little issue.. okay ive never had a yeast infection before but i think theirs a possibility i might have one. i looked it up online for symptoms and i have some of the symptoms but i dunno. i dont have any insurance to go to the doctor so im wondering if i get the medication for a yeast infection and take it ..in the event i dont have one ..would it be harmful to me in any kinda way.
there are natural treatments for yeast infections... also you can do a google search for natural yeast infection treatments and come up with some great results... i've heard the garlic and yogurt dipped tampon work nicely...
make sure it is plain and UNSWEETENED... you can also fill a tampon applicator up with plain yogurt and freeze it and then stick the yogurt popsicle up inside of you....
yuh i dont really like the idea of puttin yogert into my vagina.. wut a good over the counter products..
Sorry to interupt this thread, but... krys, what the fuck is your problem? Get over yourself and stick the god damn yogurt up your snatch. Don't you realize that is NATURE'S way of curing your problem?? Do you realize how over-medicated America is? Almost all minor problems with the human body can be fixed naturally using fruits, vegetables, herbs, and countless other things, or you could put horrible chemicals into your body to do the same thing, and most of the time that will turn your problem into something else. Now, I know this is a not nearly as big a deal as say, taking blood pressure medication (instead of doing it naturally), but the problem I have with you is your train of thought. Now you can go get an over the counter product, but you'd most likely be putting unnatural chemicals into your body. Will it work? Sure. Will the chemicals kill you? Probably not. Would it be a much better, and all around healthier idea to use yogurt? Yes. Bottom line: USE THE FUCKING YOGURT!!
yeah i was thinkin about it and i was like it would be ALOT cheaper to use the yogert.. so how exactly do i go about the whole yogert thing..do i soak it in a tampon n put the tampon in and take it out or do u leave it on.. or an i just like squirt sum up there n leave it... and is their a certain brand i could use instead of standin their reading the labels to make sure its unsweetened or w.e just grab a certain brand cuz i have no clue wut to do and reading sum of the side effects of the perscriptions kinda made me worry a little...
No offence, but this is your snatch. Take the time to research and figure it out. The answer is on these boards.
wouldn't hurt to take a systemic approach as well. take some probiotic. There are lots of other oral antifungals as well. I used to have systemic candida so I know how fun the fungus can be. check out oregano oil, has to be a certain kind so check with your local health food store, it'll pretty much kick the shit out of anything you've got. colloidal silver works well too, go with a solution of 150ppm or higher probably. garlic. eating yogurt. yeast and bacteria feed off of each other to keep a balance. sugar is another food source for yeast, especially refined sugars, so that's what's up with the sugar thing. check out your diet if you continue to get them and eliminate sugar as much as possible, wouldn't hurt to do that for a bit with this one too. also check your stress levels... outbreaks like this are often brought on by added stress. and if you're using douches or even certain kinds of soaps they can aggravate ph inbalances.
Jrny is right, and to answer a question you asked earlier that was answered incorrectly, YES, eating the yogurt will help cure and prevent yeast infections, but its not nearly as effective as direct contact with the yeast culture, which is living inside your vagina. Another benefit of the yogurt is, its nice and cool on an otherwise burning area. As an aside, if your gonna use a tampon, then replace it more often than you would if you were on your period, change it once every 6 hours or so with fresh yogurt as opposed to once a day.
using the yogurt would be a lot better for you I think, plus yes, i would be a LOT cheaper.... but I don't think that yogurt popsicle sounds very nice. sound really, really cold actully
the yogurt popsicle actually really helps, and feels good/calms the area to boot. I got a lot of yeast infections when I was on the NuvaRing, and yogurt was my best friend.
Nothing to worry about. To shift out a yeast infection is easy, but there is a very important notice that you shall consider: The medicine - Which can be SPORANOX or DIFLUCAN - shall be taken by BOTH PARTNERS, since the infection is constantly dormant in men, but when it contacts the female environment it activates to a different form. Both partners, therefore, shall be treated together, in order to completely cut the cycle of the infection. Medicines are abovementioned "best and safest", in addition to a vaginal solution or douche to be administered concurrently by females. Course shall not exceed 5 days, and you're fine to go, but you must consult your doctor beforehand and he has to approve.
I posted on healthboards.com about this but I got no reply, you guys seem pretty helpful so I'll ask here. Here was my question on healthboards.. I'm a man btw and I think I've caught this off my girlfriend, so any ideas?
Cut out processed sugar and overly processed foods like white flour for a while, aswell as foods containing yeast. Yeast feeds off these things Take a decent probiotic. They can be found online or in health food shops Dont use chemical shower gels or soaps in that area You can also buy natural creams that use things like aloe vera to help soothe the itching. Bathing helps with this too Hope this helps
I'm sure that this is a common question for people, since the medications are similar. I don't think it would be wise to try this type of independent treatment without consulting your physician. A pharmacist would also likely offer free advice if you consulted them at the store. They can be very helpful with "free" advise on over-the-counter medications, too.
