i know there are some threads about this, but they're all pretty old and there wasn't much on most of them so i just figured i'd make a new one. i've read reports and pretty much know what to expect, but i'm just wondering if anyone has done it/can talk at all about it. how visual was it for you? was it "deep" in the way that say DMT is deep? i know that the main component is bufotenin, but there is also n,n dmt and 5-meo dmt. also, i know it's supposed to be extremely painful to snort and not exactly a "recreational" experience, but i'm not really looking for recreation with this. also, as an aside, can anyone tell me about how many seeds would be in a 20 gram package? and is there a noticeable difference between A. colubrina and A. peregrina?
Sorry to leave you hanging, that was the only response I could muster. Ive tried yopo a couple of times, and I hate it. Not only is it extremely painful and nauseating (thge only drug aside from liquor that has made me vomit) but there is no psychedelic experience. I mistakenly assumed that because it was so chemically similar to psilocin and DMT, that there would be some profound experience, some lesson brought back. But no, what you end up with is a feeling of sitting on the verge of a very dangerous situation, but helpless to do anything about it, reddish orange needle visuals ( not very strong at all) and NAUSEA. Expect to throw your guts up, there was more vomit than I thought I had in me, and it was haggard. this was from 3 & 1/2 seeds. Honestly, unless youre a shaman, or have a shaman pal who can guide you through the experience, I doubt youll benefit from the trip, aside from a newfound respect for sobriety.
ahh hmm thanks for real that does sound pretty in line with what i've read... 5-meo-dmt is supposed to be pretty dark. and i remember seeing something about bufotenin being responsible in the brain for keeping fear active or something along those lines. i guess i'm just attracted to it because it seems like something that i could handle, a short acting psychedelic that shamans have used, and plus it may sound weird but i really don't mind vomiting- the idea of a "purge" is very symbolic. but i am rethinking my interest in this... when there are other things available like ayahuasca ingredients and peruvian torch, i'm sure i could gain much more out of those than i could with yopo.
i've never insufflated but i believe its a combination or a concoction snuff traditionally, not only containing yopo but other ingredients as well, not 100% sure though. you should probably do more research about the contents of a traditional snuff preparation if you plan on snorting it. i have however used yopo by itself as a smoke. this method produces a longer experience, 30-45 minutes, minor psychedelic effects mostly head tweak, and doesn't induce any nausea or vomiting, but does cause some slight vasoconstriction. it produces a somewhat pleasant body effect for the duration. in a combination smoke it proves more potent, perhaps in a changa blend.
oh, i know how i would do it, i know all about the ingredients/how many seeds to use and if i was going to go forward with this, i would use the lime powder prep method. but i'm reconsidering. i think there are better tools just as available as yopo. although if i'm ordering other things i might just order 5 seeds for like $4 so i can try it. at worst i wasted 4 bucks, an hour of my time and possibly a good meal
if SWIY could acquire/extract some straight up dmt spice you could order some b. caapi, maybe add in a pinch of salvia, douse in solvent (ethanol), let and it evaporate, and viola some killer changa. potent stuff though...travel with respect.
haha i'm scared of salvia, doubt i'm going to try that any time soon. i'm thinking that i might go for some peruvian torch, and possibly some amanitas. i dunno i might get a little but of yopo, just to try, it really depends. i was considering ayahuasca but realistically, i couldn't find the time to prepare and do that in a very meaningful way. i'll save that for when i'm a little bit older and know a little bit more about what i'm doing.
This shows promise. Seems like a lot of work (more so than some standard S2B DMT extracts) but interesting. http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=64707
I have tried A. columbina (Cebil) seeds as a smoke, using 5-7 roasted, shelled seeds in a bong or pipe. The smoke isn't terribly harsh, like burnt peanuts more than anything else, but it isn't exactly easy to get a good hit. Holding it in, it felt like all my skin tightened and every pore beaded with sweat. Nausea swept over me and I laid down for about twenty minutes until it passed. The only visuals I noted were white flashes and peripheral tremblings, but really I just felt fucking poisoned. After an hour I felt totally normal and wasn't keen to try it again, definitely not as a snuff. Go for cacti, for sure. Much better than Yopo.
cool thanks. is amanita muscaria worth trying? again i'm not so much looking for something recreational, i pretty much want a valuable entheogen.
Thanks for the input! I have some free seeds laying around, but that doesn't sound pleasant at all. Cherokee: I've read completely varied reports about A. muscaria. From no effect to worth while experience. I haven't tried myself as there seem to be much better options available to me, but would probably try once just to check it off the list, if nothing else.
I agree with explorer, amanitas is worth a shot, but every time I've tried it there was never anything of real use, just a confused, slightly agitated feeling that my soul was about to jump out of my body. Really, the most useful entheogen readily available is one of the varieties of trichocereus (or aya, but we've already had that discussion). But sure, amanitas is worth a try, just to check it off the list. I've actually been considering giving it another go at a slightly higher dosage (the most I ever did was ten grams). And explorer, since you have free seed, you might as well try it. Indeed, it probably won't be pleasant, but you could at least say you journeyed there. That's the only reason I did it. Though I totally understand if you're not into the whole "instant LSA trip" thing. Because that's the closest thing I can compare it too: an instant seed trip without the mindfuck.
If your going to do something that is going to make you hurl, go with the cacti. I think you would really appreciate it, especially the "teacher" aspect it can have with the right mindset/person. Set aside an entire day or more for it though, that would include prep. When I did SP cacti my second time I was easily at a 3++ for 12 plus hours and not back to baseline for about 18-20 hours. Very enlightening trip though. I posted a report of it here: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=374174&f=117 I really think you would enjoy and learn from old man mescalito.
wow, thanks for linking me to your report man, that sounds absolutely beautiful. mescaline has always seemed very mystical and earthy to me, in a similar way that mushrooms have and which is distinct from LSD. i think if i could try any one drug it would be mescaline... also, have you read "the doors of perception" by Aldous Huxley? part of the appeal to me is that it sounds wonderfully subtle but still very powerful. reading your report though reminds me of what i'm looking for in every psychedelic experience i go into. i'm thinking that when i get an extra amount of money together (i'm quite poor ) i'm going to order 224grams of peruvian torch cactus powder online, i've found the website and everything is set but my funds for now. soon! i'm hoping to get some so i can trip at some point during this fall, the season looks very nice where i live and the time of year provided the setting to my first ever psychedelic journey with mushrooms a few years ago
