Vendors who won't let you use your debit card if it's under $5.00. Why? Does it really cost that much for to access the phone line? Last I checked, local calls were free here. Even if they aren't, how much could it cost? More than $5.00? I seriously doubt it. It's just stupid managers being penny pinchers, which pisses me off. What about customer service? It's kinda funny to see the looks on their faces though when I order food and they say I can't use my debit, so I say "OK, throw out my food." HA!
what gets me is rude salespeople that really don't want to help you or even work, just have attitude. i am retired and have lots of time, so if i get treated rudely, i write a letter to the manager, if i get treated well and with respect, i also write a letter of thanks, some of my letters have helped positive salespeople get raises. i dress like a hippie so i am usually looked at as scum by most salespeople, but some don't care how i'm dressed and they are the one's that get my "doing a great job" letters to management. i had to work along ass time out there in the work world, and tried never to judge anyone by how they were dressed or how they looked. hippiewise
the salespeople might not like your hippy attitude. so their problem with you is the same as your problem with them. see it from their point of view
I don't think hippy attitudes ask for people to be rude to you. The salesperson she is describing is prejudice, which isn't what she's being. She's judging someone AFTER she's met them.
The average fee a card company (bank) charges a vendor is 3 percent, but I'd bet there is a minimum or a fee for a zillion small charges that eats too far into the profit. When I used plastic, I said upfront that was my pay method to save hassle.
It doesn't matter what attitude a customer has... The employee is being paid to work so therefore it is their job to make a customer feel welcome... Unless of course a customer is being threatening or about to kill the employee.. then they have a right to defend themselves... but that's another story..
