Books, my friend and I would eventually start to scrap.

 

off in the distance a small village of thatched huts and a narrow gauge railway winding through the hills. and best of all, no paved roads and no automobiles. some of the huts appear to have satalite dishes, suggesting perhapse broadband internet access.

no one seems to object to my eating the native fruit, other creatures are doing so and no one is chaising them or me away. the seem to have some sort of bare foot fishing industry going to, but really the human or humanoid population seems to be quite modest in proportion to the richly verdent mountainous island countryside.

also the u.f.o. landing area is a friendly place that seems to welcome visitors as well. and they haven't had one crash in decades. in the terminal building there are (alien) people from several of the worlds i have lived my previous lives on (as well, of course, as several more others).

there's a fine breaze blowing, it smells mildly sweet, and the temperature is not over 78f. at night it doesn't drop much below 62, even with the breeze chill factor. of course that might be just do to the time of year. it may get colder at times. hopefully not ever too much warmer.

the water in the lagoon is almost as warm as the air, and the salt content makes it almost impossible to drown in. there are sharks of course, and every other kind of aquatic life is abundant as well.
