If you want to answer the below questions you can, but you can also talk about online communication, friends and identity. Anything is greatly appreciated. ________________________ How is the way you are perceived in the "real world" different to the way you are perceived here? Are you different online than in real life? How much of an effort do you put in to sound funny, smart, nice, empathetic? Or would you prefer to be known as an asshole? Do you care if you're popular online, or not? How would you act if you met a friend from here in real life? Do you trust and know them enough to meet up with them? What are your thoughts and feelings when you recieve a compliment on a photo or post? What about an insult? Why did you choose the avatar you chose? I chose mine because it looked the most like me. Is your "virtual world" completely seperate to your "real world"? Or do they intertwine? Do you think about HF (and/or other online communities) when you're not on them? Why do you communicate online? Do people "get you" better here or out in the "real world"? _________________________ This is for an assignment and I figured you'd all be bursting at the seams to answer some of these questions. Thank you for your time Sorry about how the questions changed. He was right :leaving:
I was going to answer this, but then I saw that it was for an assignment, which means that I will only answer it for a fee of $100.
My personal information is valuable. I'd gladly answer those questions if they weren't for an assignment, but I'm not comfortable with giving that information away for public use. Providing you with said information pretty much equates to me signing that information away to public record with no right to ever contest it if deemed necessary. Therefore, you should either pay me for it, or not request it. I suggest that everyone else request money for this instead and teach this young lady a valuable lesson!
Is the way you are precieved in an online community important to you? A little. I'm not trying to act like someone i'm not. So really, I care how i protray myself online and off. Do you care what people think about you? Not really. At times, i'm interested. Do you care if you're popular online, or not? No Do you care how many friends you have? no Are your online friends important to you? depends Why did you choose the avatar you chose? For the record, I'm not going to paraphrase or directly quote anything anyone says on here in my essay. My essay is on Avatars and Online Identity, and I like to start threads about it to get those creative juices flowing. I did the same thing with my Music and Poetry essay, and that thread (which can be found in the music section ) really opened up some ideas which I could explore. And, honestly, I'm disappointed you won't reply. You were one of the people I was hoping would
I'm just giving you a hard time. I do think that your survey could be more specific if you want more direct detail and discourse instead of the shitty yes/no answers you're getting right now.
Is the way you are precieved in an online community important to you? no Do you care what people think about you? no Do you care if you're popular online, or not? no Do you care how many friends you have? no Are your online friends important to you? define important?? Or do they intertwine? somewhat intertwined. somewhat separate. Do you think about HF (and/or other online communities) when you're not on them? no Why do you communicate online? I often ask myself that very same question.. Do people "get you" better here or out in the "real world"? nobody gets me.lol, or at least there is no rhyme or reason as to who does and who dont.
Is the way you are precieved in an online community important to you? not anymore Do you care what people think about you? depends on the person. for people i care about...yes Do you care if you're popular online, or not? not at all Do you care how many friends you have? no, just the quality of the friendships Are your online friends important to you? not really Why did you choose the avatar you chose? Or do they intertwine? completely separate nowadays Do you think about HF (and/or other online communities) when you're not on them? on rare occasions Why do you communicate online? to waste time Do people "get you" better here or out in the "real world"? in the real world. people online take me too seriously
Yes, and maybe elaborating your questions to make them a bit more personal. Otherwise you get mere statistics.
Well I'm not going to answer them in point format. Yes, the relationships I cultivate online are important to some degree, and as such, I act in a manner as if they would be. 'No, I don't care what others think' is probably a popular response, but I think it's antisocial, and used as a defense mechanism. I kinda seek attention to, so to say I'm not concerned with popularity is probably a stretch. But I'd rather have a few close e-friends than a lot of sycophantic e-acquaintances. No avatar, which I think probably does say something about me. Or maybe I just didn't like the choices. Of course online friends are important. Less so than real life I suppose, but I wouldn't be here if it didn't matter. Am I different online than in real life? A little bit. I'm more talkative online. Wherever I go, I'm me, and my characters the same in real life. It takes a lot of curiosity to 'get me' in real life or here. I rarely think about this place when I'm gone.
I just think that there're a lot of questions on there How do you mean more personal? What do you think of the newish ones? Thank you, by the way. I'm not sure if you're immune to human emotions but I appreciate it
