Well, what's your favorite ethnic food....feel free to get as descriptive as possible. (I'd like to learn more about various dishes etc...that are "native" to a specific area/people)
Yes, I suppose...but for the sake of conversation could we generalize? Actually, we don't really even have to, you could simply say your favorite foods and what ethnicity they are most commonly associated with, or where their "roots" are. If you feel so compelled to give a brief history of the food that would be awesome too.
Jamaican food, I would say: jerk chicken, curry goat, rice and beans, meat patties, fried plantains, etc.
Chicken Biryani. It's like heaven! I'm half Indian although the religion of my Indian family is originally a Persian religion which is where the dish supposedly originally comes from. You can't just nip down to any Indian takeaway, it has to be authentic and roasted and that's when it's sooo damn good! I'm off to my kitchen...
I don't know because all the ethnic food I've ever had was probably Americanized somehow. I'm a big fan of fried rice...lol.
hahaha Some people need a little more explanation. Fuck yea! Chinese food! I'm a little allergic to seafood though. Sometimes it worth it. I also love the shit out of Italian food.
I like a lot of different things, but my favorite is probably som tam with sticky rice and bbq chicken.. yum yum! That's thai.
Korean ribs(I only wish there were a vegetarian food similar to that beautiful taste, falafel, hummus, anything curry, couscous.
Oh, gado gado is a fucking sensational dish.. Indonesian vegetarian food. Would go great with chicken
Jamaica jerk chicken mango lassi (a beverage, not a dish) Thai red curry/Thai sweet peanut curry pork vindaloo (anglicized I know) Sudanese style fish with banana on a bed of mashed yams (don't remember the proper name for the dish) Moroccan fish soup haggis Schezuan chicken Peking duck seafood tom yum soup sushi ...and a lot of dishes with foreign names that I don't remember. Ask me about any you are curious about, but I'm sure you would have heard of most of them.
I've never had it, I'm curious. By the way, I borrowed Jamaica jerk chicken from you. I ate a lot of it while visiting London. Its a fantastic dish. I also like gumbo and beef jambalaya but they are essentially American. Edit: Oh you mother fucker :smilielol5:
