Post here, if you so choose, when you locate and purchase one of those ever-so-elusive albums you've been hunting for. Today, I found a used CD copy of the Soft Machine's Volume Two. I was pretty happy to find that one.
Donovan's A Gift From a Flower to a Garden. The whole package...oh, I was so excited. I also found Vincebus Eruptum...Oh, I wanted that so bad, but my mama told me she was scared of Blue Cheer. I figured, hey, for once...
I finally found a place, and am going back there this week to get Arlo's Alice's Restaurant, VU's The Velvet Underground, and Dylan's The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, all on vinyl... I've yet to download any of those, so it'll be cool to hear them... I found my old record player today, and by some stroke of luck, it works! I had no money last time I went, so I hope they're all still there.. if not, there's still a lot of records I didn't look through. Ah, the sweet sound of vinyl.. I've had a 2nd-printing Are You Experienced? for over a year, and this is the first time I'm listening to it. :H
It was a shock to hear music coming from it... I think it might've just needed some dust. I still have yet to clean it since I found it. I'm gonna buy a newer one after I move.
I found a copy of The Velvet Underground at a record show before, but it cost $30. I didn't really want to pay that much for it, especially because it wasn't in great condition or anything. I kind of wish I would have gotten it now, though. Oh well. Ahahaha, sorry about that.
a pink floyod 10" (ooh erh missus) with a cool early version of interstellar overdrive an some earlyy ('66) acetates trout mask replica by beefheart the byrds 5th dimension and loads more all on vinyl
I wouldn't exactly call these rare, but considering I found them at the thrift store, the condition is very rare. the "war heroes/cry of love" is near mint and the "srgt. peppers" is vg++.
The one I found was only $12... I take it that's pretty cheap? The ones I listed were all that price. It's not like it was a thrift store either, and the lady at the desk said all the vinyls were in very good condition unless noted on the sleeve... I'll prolly still buy them anyway, and wait til I can find a new record player I found that Hendrix album for over $40... how much was it for you?
The 13th Floor Elevators! Psychedelic sounds of... and Easter everywhere on vinyl. Cost me an arm and a leg but well worth it cuz' I still have my ears and brain.
On vinyl: - Purchased recently from 2nd hand record shop: Columbia Record label: 'Red Rubber Ball' L.P. by 'The Cyrkle' . 1966 (mono). '96 Tears' 45rpm by ? & The Mysterians' on Cameo Parkway.1966.(mono,scratched). Still on the look-out for: 'Killer' by Alice Cooper. The original gatefold L.P. on Warner Bros Record Label. The centrefold contains a: ' 1971 Calendar ' with Alice Cooper being hung as the centrefold photo!!.
That's awesome. I have a vinyl re-release of The Psychedelic Sounds of... but having an original release would be stunning.
