Are you an impulsive shopper, or a logical calculated one?

Do you shop as a hobby or out of necessity only?

Do you live and shop within your means, are you frugal, or do you spend beyond your means? Are you a demanding or laid back customer?

Do you find what you are looking for quickly, with "military" efficiency? Or does it take you ages to find inspiration, or just what you want?

Is there anything in particular that you find you spend/waste lots of money on?

spent $140 today. pretty much knew what i needed. went in looked around for a bit, got what i needed and left. i am a laid back customer. i never argue about prices or anything or would never report an employee to a manager. i work in retail so i know how it feels to be on the other side

I rarely go shopping. If I need new clothes I try to modify old ones before going shopping. And even then, I'll usually shop online or down the road at the 2nd hand shops, partly because I'm lazy, and partly because shop bought clothes can be expensive and I dislike most of the stuff I see.

I don't shop for anything other than food generally.
Although I love rummaging charity and 2nd hand shops for random things, always always always find a diamond in a coal mine!!! mostly not valuable or even sentimental but if something catches my eye and I don't buy it then I can spend days thinking about it!

I tend to spend more than I'd like... especially when I go to the grocery store. I am the type who would rather spend the extra money on a quality product than buy something cheap and loaded with a bunch of crap. I do also tend to impulse buy if I see something that looks interesting.

For the amount of money I make, which is not a lot, I probably spend more than I should.

These days I spend a lot of money on vitamins and other nutritional supplements. Also a lot of organic food items.

I usually know what I want when shopping, so I go in, get it, and be done. I try not to get a lot of excessive stuff that I don't need. New to bachelor hood again, so even though I did shopping during marriage, it seems different doing it for myself.

On groceries, I spend anywhere from $50 to $80 a week and lately it's just become stockpiling (my pantry is beginning to look like preparation for an apocalypse) so last week, I skipped on the groceries to attempt to save a little money. I usually spend about $50 a week on myself, be it clothes or crafty things or toys (lol, seriously, I have a better collection of toys now than I ever did as a child). I don't buy out of my budget usually, I don't have any line of credit, so I can't really spend anything I don't have.

For most things I'm a logical, considered shopper. Some things, clothes and stuff, I'm more impulse.

Depending on who I'm dating, I'll sometimes go out for the afternoon shopping or whatever. But I don't tend to get a big thrill from a regular ritual of shopping just to buy things I dont overly want.

If I'm specifically looking for something, it can take me ages. If I'm not that bothered about something, I probably wont buy it.

Sometimes, I spend what some people may think is excessive on certain things. But for the most part, I don't feel the need to spend big amounts.
I have a max level I might spend on a particular item. I mean spending £200 on a pair of training shoes just seems silly/ tacky. But on some things someone might say to me "wtf did you spend so much on xyz?".

Finally, I've pretty much always refused to do food shopping etc. So I'll have someone( usually gf or someone else) do it for me. Its always made me feel really uncomfortable, unless its say buying Christmas drink.

I do my food shopping on a daily basis.I eat simply and I'm usually in and out of the supermarket in 5 minutes.I haven't bought any new clothed for about 5 months. My main expense is cds and books, both of which I collect avidly. Also art materials.I'm coming into a considerable amount of money soon,so I'll have to be careful not to go crazy or it won't last that long.

I use to spend money a whole lot more cautiously. Since meeting my husband, I spend more frivolously on nicer things, such as fine dining, nice(r) clothes, vacations, etc. I still am not as extreme as he is and would still consider myself somewhat frugal. We've found ourself with a smaller amount of disposable income, due to me not currently working, having a child, and buying 3 houses within the last 18 months and are learning to adjust accordingly.

i hate shopping except for food shopping.
Even then my objective is to get in and out as fast as possible.
I put off clothes shopping for as long as possible, which is why I don't have a wide variety of clothes or shoes.
There are a few things that I choose to not buy generic brands of.
I usually shop frugally as my whole life I've shopped frugally.
Shopping just sucks either way. I hate spending money really.

i do my grocery shopping once a week. i buy almost the same things every week and i know exactly where to find them. i'm in and out in a half hour.

i get beer from a couple different places. i'm a little more impulsive there, but still don't tend to vary too much.

I hit Goodwill and other bargain stores about once a week looking for used books and occasionally some little doodad, my wife looks for clothes.
We food shop at Aldi's, Sam's club, and the local bread store almost exclusively.
About once a month we hit Ollie's Bargain Outlet just to see what's there.
For furniture we hit antique stores; for bargains not expensive stuff, or we go to Just Cabinets.

We are always on the lookout for a new bargain store.

I never impulse buy except for Goodwill, and try to get out of stores as fast as possible, unless they have books.

Over time my shopping habits have changed.

Since I retired, I spend less and tend to weigh out whether it is something I need or something I want. Since I don't really like shopping, I only go once I have made that decision of what I need and try to get in and out of the store as soon as possible.

I hate grocery shopping, so go out early morning 6:30-7 am. I have a list, know where everything is, and get in and out of the store in less than a half hour depending on how much I need. Usually the only people in the store work there and so no crowds to deal with.

I live within my means. I have a credit card, but pay it off each month if I use it at all.

I have more clothes than anyone could possibly need and am getting rid of anything I don't use. I mostly wear jeans and t-shirt in the summer and jeans and turtle neck in the winter. Anything more fancy has gone to Goodwill or is on the way there.

The only place I like to browse is the thrift stores or flea markets, or an occasional rock shop/metaphysical store. I actually have not done a whole lot of this for the last year. I feel that I have too much stuff and need to take things to Goodwill etc. before I bring anything more home.

Before I retired I did stock up on supplies for my crafting (fiber arts and jewelry making). I shouldn't need to get anything new for a long time.

Over the years I purchased hundreds of books and CD's. I have plenty of music to listen to and books to explore now that I have more time to read.

I don't waste money these days.

  18. I actually don't think about, until now that is ;) I buy what I need,I go to different markets for different thing, fruit and veg, asian, regular just for milk yoghurt and the like. If I want (certainly don't need) something in particular to wear, I always check out second hand first. I don't know, I suppose I don't really think about money, I'm pretty frugal so if I do need to make an unexpected purchase I have the money.

I don't have enough money to be an impulsive shopper.
Even if I did, I don't think I would, as I tend to spend money carefully.

My parents pay my rent, my bills and give me money for food. I am still in school and I don't work. I have a scholarship, which I spend on my phone bill and stuff like pilates, theatre, cinema and coffees.
