Eating a Meal Made with Food Stamps

It happened this xMas.
I was invited to the home of a friend. She is a magnificent cook and quite generous with her food and her portions. Unfortunately, she has currently fallen on hard times and must budget her food with government ersatz money.
Should one feel differently if one is eating as a guest in someone's home knowing that the food on the table was purchased with food stamps?
I do. So what is my remedy?
I never come empty-handed. I bring gifts which are generally in the form of food. The choices that I make are foods that she would not or could not purchase for herself but things that she would eat or drink. So, for example, I might get her dried beans that are organic or varieties that are less common. I purchase fresh seafood and cleaned fish. I may go to an Asian meat market where some varieties of chicken are more common. Or I get a high quality bottle of rum or vodka. I always make sure to include a sealed bag of ground coffee and two quarts of organic milk. The one thing that I also include (which causes me personal shame) is a pack of cigarettes. She and I met in a masters program in public health!
I am thankful to G*d for introducing this magnificent woman to me and I hope that one day her fortune reverses back to a point where assistance will no longer be needed. In the meantime, I hope the invitations continue!
