Like I said, the idea of self-incrimination is very confusing to me. Once there where these two brothers were I live. They were very young but the police thought they killed a woman. They said they got their confessions but when they examined the body they found she had been raped and they obviously couldn't have done it. I thought at the time they obviously confessed for that reason, they didn't understand. They had the right to remain silent but the policeman was still talking them and they thought they had to tell him what he wanted to hear. And also if you say you want a lawyer the questioning has to end at that point. I thought to myself early on, if you have the right to remain silent they shouldn't be questioning you to begin with. Unless you say "I am ready to confess. I'll meet you in the interogation room".
