More Thoughts.

Like I said, the evolution of my political views on crime and punishment and justice was well underway by the time I saw that Star Trek: Voyager episode Repentance in 2001. That episode was the first time in those series since TOS when they really covered not just the topic of justice but of punishment and rehabilitation too. I was disappointed that their fictional plots and views of that subject had changed in many ways since that 1966 episode Dagger of the Mind.

That episode wasn't mainly about punishment and rehabilitation, it was about the prime directive and how you view other cultures. How you view them and how much you should do to intervene when there are obvious injustices involved in their system. Basically diplomacy, you could say. And it reminds me of what is going on now in South America and the Middle East. Taking over a country and nation building after that is against general policy in the world today. But I don't hear too many of our allies complaining much either. Either their governments, or their citizens online now.
