My American Tragedy

If they refuse to answer Y or N questions by the senate overseers, then they should be thrown in jail for contempt and released only when they are compliant. Don't even give them a toothbrush.

I know exactly what I was thinking of when this was written. It was Marjorie Taylor Greene's testimony. It was also Christie Noem's testimony. I get infuriated when the inquisitor asks a yes or no question and the respondent waffles. That person should not be allowed to answer that way. And there should be a rule that if such an answer is given for the purpose of lying or distorting, then the inquisitor should say something like, "I'll take that to mean ____."

In my viscera, this is how I feel. But I was also a union representative for a number of years, and I had to protect employees against self-incrimination. If that is the problem that these slimeballs fear, then maybe they should say so.
