Some More Thoughts.

Like I've told people for some time now, I am drawn to the character of the savage in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Because he was a savage in both worlds. He was a savage in his world, which we would recognize as being our world today, for supporting the the utopia of tomorrow. And he was savage in the utopia of tomorrow for clinging to the ideas of the past. Like that crime is still a moral failing, not a disease. And that the dead always be treated with the utmost respect. And his methods were wrong and disruptive, both worlds thought. We have people like that today sometimes. Hugh Hefner, Alan Turing, Jack Kevorkian, Larry Flynt, and Gloria Steinem even. But history never remembers them that way. And we always later recall it was those who opposed them who were the savages.
