Could you wear sandals or wear flip flops to school? At least your feet your would be exposed.

Sure you can. I have to, that working thing gets in the way for me. When it's time to remove the shoes, bare feet feel even better.

I've driven with my left bare foot out the window when driving, ok, guilty as charged. However the right one always down where it should be.
You are correct, I've seen pics of some horrific accidents due to this. Sexy, but risky. I still look though....
