Parents support to masturbate

My stepson who is 12-years-old masturbates daily. I do not say to him that he needs to go and masturbate in his room. I do not say to him not to masturbate. I tell him that masturbation is natural and healthy. I told him there area place and time when you should masturbate. It needs to be done in the home and not in public places like the classroom, restroom. He is very relaxed in speaking to me about things like this. I let him know he can masturbate openly in the home.

My parents didn't take a stance on it either way. Porn on the other hand wasn't okay with them and they made that clear.
That's probably where I'd be at too. Masturbation will happen but I would highly discourage viewing porn until adulthood.

 

My parents never said a bit about anything personal, much more anything sexual. She did walk in on me one summer morning when I was maybe 14, in bed, splayed out, edging.....turned around, left and never said a word tho.... I couldn't have imagined having even a bit of porn like it is out there today.....

 

My folks didn't really say much of anything to me about masturbation. I kinda learned about it on my own. Then one night my mom caught me. Later the next day she brought it up and said, " Everyone fucks off now and then" It was the first time I ever heard my mom use language like that. But from then own I masturbated freely without fear or guilt.

 

I was watching porn on my computer in my room upstairs and went to the bathroom to clean up after masturbating and I jumped into the shower as usual. But this one day my mom came home earlier expected while I was still showering as I heard the front door close.

She said hello through the bathroom door and went to her bedroom which meant she had to walk past my bedroom. I thought I had a lucky escape but once I dried off and walked back to my bedroom I had forgotten my door was wide open and was playing a porn video so I knew my mom would have seen it on her way to the bedroom. I quickly closed my door and didn't come out for what seemed like hours.

I came down to dinner in a panic thinking I would get shouted at or a big lecture. But instead she said that she had seen it on my computer and it was nothing wrong and that she had always wondered if I was looking at porn. She said just don't look at it all the time and do it in your room in private and don't let your dad see it. My dad was away for work a lot for and a bit of a prude to be honest.

So after that I took it as a free pass to look at porn and there were a couple of times where I would clean up in the bathroom and in the meantime she would be cleaning the house and entered my bedroom to clean and seen porn on the computer and left without saying anything.

I think she was just glad I didn't turn out gay in her mind

 

My parents hadn't told me anything about masturbation but my older sister (we shared a room) talked to me and taught me everything. Now that I am a father of a boy and a girl we have talked to our kids (me to our son and my wife to our daughter) about masturbation and sex. We have answered all their questions and we have explained to them that musturbation is something totally normal and they can do it in private as much as they need to and they both do so.

I wouldn't say they "supported" my masturbation but one day when mum walked in on me stroking she handed me a box of tissues and said they were better than the sheets..
