That's right. The original intent was to inflict sever emotional pain on immigrants, to terrorize them. One woman who was interviewed said she was given a name tag paper of her kid's name and detention numbers. She told the names on that paper were not the names of her kids. She did not know where her kids were? On a side note: Trumpy's personal lawyer Cohen has quit his post with the RNC, claiming that he did not agree with Trumpy's "Tender Age Children Detention Camps" and a second report said he's going to speak with the law about what he knows!
DACA was a TEMPORARY fix. That kept getting kicked down the road and extended. Now who's up in arms about Trump terminating DACA? And if you read all the links they state that children were separated from their parents because its illegal to house them together. Obama simply was too lenient in enforcing it. You do realize that is the issue here right?
And already they are suggesting Trump will face lawsuits for violating the Flores Act. The same ACT that Obama was taken to court over that was linked. Trump's Border Separation Move Could Pose Legal Issue Since the left seem to approve the use of feckless cunts as no longer off limits. Welcome to the feckless cunts that scream Trump is holding kids from parents. Now lets sue him when he doesn't. Lets sue anything and everything that doesn't allow no questions asked entry into our country. We wonder why America is turning to a shithole nation. This is a perfect example.
I never said DACA wasnt a temporary fix? One that Trump has been using as a political bargaining chip rather and has not made permanent, might I add Your first link was about unaccompanied minors Second link was a tweet, not exactly a valid source, but it seems to be about Obama holding mothers and children together as a deterrent, not seperating them The thing about THAT is the only other option would be to release them into the US without proocessing them and detaining them before they can be seen in immigration court, and we all know how bad people would bitch about that too Third link is about unaccompanied minors Its only illegal to house them together if the parents are pending criminal charges. Previous administrations have treated this as a civil matter, not a criminal one. The policy of separating children is a policy new to the Trump administration, whether you want to admit it or not It looks like Trump is going to bend to the will of the people and end this policy (we'll see anyways) so thats good anyways
Trumps EO.. So the kids are now going to be under arrest too... I wonder if they will be charged with a crime? He stated after signing it's still a zero tolerance policy. So basically it does nothing... _______________________________________________ In other news.... Health and Human Services, the group handling the kids already separated doesn't know how to get them back to the proper parents because the records are so bad. _______________________________________________ They have already deported at least one woman back to Guatemala without her 8 year old son... They don't know where he is at the moment, some detention center somewhere. I'm sure there will be more of this happening. ________________________________________________ But hey! You know them illegal toddlers are only here to steal jobs away from them American toddlers...
Trump should study the Dow Jones index Rick Newman Senior Columnist Yahoo Finance June 20, 2018 Trump should study the Dow Jones index excerpt: "Changes in the Dow during the last 40 years reflect the migration from a manufacturing economy to a tech and service economy. Walt Disney replaced USX Corp. (formerly US Steel) in 1991. In 1997, insurance conglomerate Travelers and drugmaker Johnson & Johnson came aboard, while Westinghouse and Bethlehem Steel left. In 1999, chipmaker Intel and software giant Microsoft joined, replacing Goodyear and Union Carbide. Telecom firm Cisco replaced General Motors in 2009. Nike bounced Alcoa in 2013. Why is Trump so fixated on the industrial economy of the 20th century, and seemingly oblivious to the tech and service economy of the 21st? Perhaps it’s because it’s what he grew up with, or maybe he sees more political gain as champion of the downtrodden than ally of the successful. But Trump’s protectionist policies don’t harness the nation’s growing strength in technology, finance, entertainment, entrepreneurship, health care innovation or e-commerce to raise living standards for more Americans. Instead, he’s trying to impose the economy of 1975 on 2018. A simple look at the companies of the Dow suggests it won’t happen."
Trump signs order stopping his policy of separating families at border Government officials familiar with early drafts say the executive order would allow families to be held in immigration detention together. by Adam Edelman Jun.20.2018 / 12:24 PM ET / Updated 5:13 PM ET Trump signs order stopping his policy of separating families at border excerpts: "President Donald Trump, under mounting political pressure from angry members of his own party, signed an executive order Wednesday reversing his administration's policy of separating children from their parents at the border and allowing families to instead be detained together." "House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the order "seeks to replace one form of child abuse with another." "Instead of protecting traumatized children, the president has directed his attorney general to pave the way for the long-term incarceration of families in prison-like conditions," Pelosi said in a statement. Under the order, the Defense Department must also provide and, "if necessary," construct facilities to house and care for the families. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis says the Pentagon will "respond if requested" to house migrants detained after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. When a reporter noted that federal agencies have assessed four military bases for potential use as temporary housing for detained migrants, including unaccompanied children, Mattis said the Pentagon will "support whatever" the Department of Homeland Security says it needs. In the meantime, he said, this is not a matter for the Pentagon to comment on."
This is typical Trump. Like he has throughout his past, he creates a stink in a capricious manner to try to get what he wants to gratify his ego, similar to his thoughtless travel ban that created havoc. It is exacerbated by his nominations of people who are blatantly unqualified for the job and by his general lack of concern for maintaining the federal departments that he belittles and that are needed to effectively implement policy.
While it may have had some effectiveness for him in a zero-sum, Trump-against-the-others, private real estate game, Trump's mindset and approach don't integrate well into environments that involve governance, diplomacy, and the building of multilateral coalitions in a democratic system. Trump has already proven this fact many times in his Presidency. His approaches are much closer to what are used in autocracies, oligarchies, and dictatorships which, not surprisingly, he has wholeheartedly publicly embraced to the extemt of saluting a North Korean military general.
While trump should be criticized for separating children from their parents I think Peter Fonda may have gone just a bit too far when he tweeted ..... “We should rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if his mother will stand up against the giant ass—- she is married to.” ...lol..... It really is getting dangerous for kids at the US/Mexican border
Do you not actually think emigrating parents are mentally capable of gathering the legal paperwork needed for them and their children to cross the border? How about a visa or a freaking birth certificate? This is just as bad as democrats telling us that nobody should need an ID to vote. Same old fallible argument again and again. snatch the kids away from them and put the kids in detention centers?[/quote] Bifrucation fallacy. All or nothing argument. Seems that Balbus has taught you well. Oh yes, the Obama administration sure treated them like decent human beings, didn't he: FLASHBACK: The Obama White House Kept Children Together With Parents In 'Widespread Deplorable Conditions' ... And Cited Holding Women And Children As A 'Deterrent' Why should having a child of a tender age immune someone from a law?
President Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian Lawmakers by Bloomberg June 13, 2018 President Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian Lawmakers "The U.S leader was nominated by two members of Norway’s governing Progress Party, according to state broadcaster NRK. The deadline for this year’s prize passed in January, so this nomination would make him eligible for next year. It is unclear whether he was nominated for this year’s prize. Nominations for the world’s most coveted prize are open to lawmakers, academics and researchers from around the world. The Nobel Committee in Oslo typically receives hundreds of nominations each year, and past candidates have also included Russian President Vladimir Putin and Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. A record 330 people were nominated this year. While the Norwegian Nobel committee is appointed by parliament, it’s decisions are independent. Trump was nominated by two right-wing members of Norway’s Progress Party, which advocates for limited immigration and lower taxes."
Dictators have a way of making people shed tears for their perceived excellence instead of for the people who were executed by them. Dennis Rodman sheds tears about Trump making North Korea great again while wearing a MAGA cap. Dennis Rodman cries as he hails Trump-Kim summit: 'I'm so happy'
He also needed to divert attention from the congressional vote this Friday to cut $800 billion from Social Security and Medicare...both he said would not be touched!
Many of these parents are fleeing from very difficult situations and have traveled a long way. You would have to look at each one case by case to determine if they had the opportunity to obtain records or manage to keep them on their journey. Not to get off on a tangent, but voter I.D. laws are merely an attempt at voter suppression. Since 2000 there have been a whooping 31 proven cases of voter fraud that the I.D. law would prevent out of over a billion votes, which is about .000000031 % The adults were presumed to be a flight risk by not showing up for their hearings, which would be held to determine if they were in fact violating the law. The law is a misdemeanor. Children can't be held for more than 20 days which means the adults, if allowed to keep their children, would also have to be released in 20 days. Trump didn't like that, so he separated the children from their parents so that the parents could be held indefinitely. So technically Okie is correct, but the parents are not presumed to be sex offenders, just flight risks, so the children were removed and placed in detention centers or shipped thousands of miles away to parts unknown. About 30% fail to show. Trump will find out he faces a big problem when the 20 days are up and the children, and presumably their parents, have to be released. Also we still have the problem of what happens to the 2,300 children already taken from their parents. Obama's decision was struck down, yet Trump didn't learn by it. He probably didn't even know about it. No one has claimed that having a child makes you immune from the law. How did you reach that conclusion? Hard Time, Reuters
The GOP plan would move toward privatizing Medicare and would cut $537 billion out of Medicare in the next 10 years. Social Security will lose $4 billion over 10 years. This is all in an effort to balance the budget, which the GOP has screwed up by giving massive tax breaks to the rich and corporations resulting in a $1.5 trillion dollar national debt. Then they passed a $400 billion dollar spending increase aimed largely at the military...to protect us from our enemies who have currently been identified as Mexico and Canada. The military budget is now $634 billion, in 2019 it'll be $716 billion. Not to mention the cost of the Space Cadet program. That's why we need to take money from the old people.
I know it must be hard for you to relate to the situation of human beings fleeing horrendous violence. The normal ports of entry are a bottleneck. Those who cross at other points present themselves to border agents only to have their kids snatched from them and put in separate detention centers. Your solution: treat 'em like felons. Throw the book at 'em. They're "breaking the law". Too bad that the kids, babies, toddlers will be traumatized and messed up. Where are their papers? Meanwhile, prosecutorial resources are being diverted to going after these families under "zero tolerance", which means as a practical matter maximum tolerance for real criminals like terrorists and kidnappers, since there are only so many prosecutors to go around. Some people have empathy, compassion and decency and can see the horror of this situation. Even the Donald realizes that he dug himself into a hole and has tried by his executive order to stop digging. You're still looking for clever talking points to justify the policy that led over 2.000 kids, many of tender age, to be separated from their parents--possibly permanently. Trump signed the order, but nobody seems to have an implementation plan and it doesn't apply to the families already separated. The creepy thing is that no members of the public, the media, the mayors, etc., are allowed into the child detention centers to observe the conditions of custody. And unlike the kids of those convicts you talk about, these kids have no ties to the community. Strangers in a strange land. Ploy #666: "But Obama"...; "But Hillary".When did they take 2,000 kids from their parents?
