    At the visitor's center they have some fantastic pictures of the night sky taken from there, but I couldn't find any on the net. It isn't a bad site but not the best, there is a glow from a city in the distance and an airport search light ten miles away sweeps by.
    A better site is Cherry Springs, which has reportedly the darkest night sky on the East Coast. It gets so dark the Milky Way can cast a shadow.
    We went there once to see the stars. The park has special rules, regulations, and light barriers for entering cars. It sits on top of a hill and is wired for electric so people can hook up tracking telescopes and cameras to get good pictures. Here's a picture of the park, you can see an observatory in the back.
