It probably isn't fair to put everything on her because obviously how things ultimately panned out is not all her doing. You make some very good points about how much the public really does know even though various perspectives have been published and the court case is documented.

The thing is though, after all is said and done she comes across as an opportunist. If her story about (correction) Skinner torturing them, the copping pleas to save themselves, etc, is all true, I'd think the last thing she or anyone would want to do is try to make bank on the whole thing.
The gas mask photo ought to speak volumes about where she's coming from. Not so bright? Ok, sure. Manipulated by the other players, no doubt. It's not so much about her part in the scene before it was all shut down as it is her using her involvement to self promote after the fact. I feel that's why people slam her. She's the only one walking free while Pickard rots in prison.
Here is another angle on the story. This was published before the trial and is better written than the other. Rolling Stone usually has quality stories.

I think that her claim is that Skinner, not Pickard, tortured her and her other bf.

My understanding of the sequence of events (according to her) is that Skinner and Pickard were running the operation, Skinner got scared that a bust was imminent, he reported Pickard in exchange for immunity.

Later, after Pickard was convicted, Skinner beat her, and then she and her other bf decided that they would turn in Skinner. They reported him to the DEA, who didn't bust him and instead warned Skinner that she and her bf had snitched. Skinner retaliated by kidnapping and torturing them, for which Skinner went to jail.

That's my understanding as well and, yes, my mistake I intended to say it was Skinner alleged to have tortured her bf. Embarrased actually that I typed that and missed it.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that she was called to testify against pickard, and plead the fifth.

But then made youtube videos saying that they're all bad guys and deserved whatever they got, as though she didn't plead that she was basically the same.

Anyway, she's basically the local hoe that became his bed toy and lackey-not important, other than by extended time in close proximity to him and his shady dealings.

As for skinner, just took enough chemicals for pickard to trust him..... charismatic maybe, but couldn't hang as far as mentally keeping it together, talked the spiritual mumbo-jumbo but didn't walk the walk, and was clearly mentally not prepared or in good health-and he was retarded as far as going incognito-you can drive porches and play the spoiled out of town rich boy with OUT acting like he did, generally highly suspicious and conspicuous-or you could just NOT let people see all your exotic sports cars and five star missile silo.
