Back in the day when it was British Rail, wasn't Fire Brigade but rail staff who removed the pieces (and that's exactly what they were and sometimes not even that).

Seems like you're forgetting that nurses get breaks while at work. This reminds of the people who complain about the police doing something similar with their skits and community outreach.

So I watched the whole thing. What part of it was raunchy again? Look, there's a thing called breaks and lulls in this kind of work. They're not doing this while there's 10 people in cardiac arrest. If you're operating at code red for the entire duration of your shift, you'll mentally break down.

There’s a time and a place for filming TikToks

If I was a patient, or a family member of a hospital patient, and I saw the medical staff performing these hijinks in the hall. I would lose all confidence in the hospital and ask to be sent elsewhere.

I realize breaks are important for all jobs. But that doesn’t mean professionalism should go out the window. At my job, they would never allow this on breaks. Hell, if I used my work computer to watch YouTube videos or go on Hip Forums on break, I would get in trouble.

It's your subjective conclusion professionalism is going out the window because of how these people use their off time.
    You're entitled to that opinion.

I think that would suit everyone (incl. most other patients) in that hospital just fine.
    Seems irrelevant.

Even the most professional of people need to blow off some steam every once in a while.

Here in London, fortunately things have changed a lot for the better over recent years,

Our daughter is based at Westminster, where their has always been a serious problem with homelessness. During nigh shifts she spends a lot of time with people sleeping rough and helping them find a solution. Some of their stories are heartbreaking, where guys have lost highly paid jobs in the city, been kicked out by their gold digging partners and soon resorted to alcohol or drugs.
It is a mammoth task to get them into accommodation (where they can then apply for work) and then get them into rehabilitation for any addictions.

The problems were first highlighted by the London Evening standard and it was discovered that Police, social workers and local authorities all wanted to help, but lacked coordination. They are now all working together, along with several major supermarkets who donate all food going out of date every evening for collection by charities who have willingly joined into the program. Companies have also offered conditional employment to hundreds of these people, which often leads to a permanent position.

Police work today, involves a lot more than jumping over rooftops chasing criminals, but as you mentioned, many people have no idea.

Perhaps the most rewarding aspect is the number of large towns and cities wanting to set up similar programs, not only from the UK, but all over western Europe.
These also include the US, where New York has taken particular interest over the last 2 years.

    what is your trade?

I worked in a few offices where you could hear folks breathing!
    Mind numbing shit!

(I was a partition glazier at the time)

most of those offices were solicitors or law firms though, so fair enough.

but bugger that, a break is a break.
If you return fit for work what’s the issue?

Which is probably why they do it when they're not busy and away from patients. Because unlike you, they actually have a better grasp of when it's appropriate.
Different jobs have different rules. I had one job where I could basically watch Netflix and YouTube for the entire shift and another job where I could be on my phone for half the day. I've also had jobs that made me not have my phone on me except for breaks. In fact, at my current job, I could get a felony if I tried to sneak one in. Just because you can't do what they're doing doesn't mean they can't.

When there's enough staff to allow ten people to take breaks at once. I had a job that was staffed to the point that we could do something similar with three or five people at once.
Won't someone please think of the children?!?!

Not sure the nurses are responsible for the economy but.....

I’m still enjoying my life to the best of my ability.

And why the F shouldn’t I! Or indeed anybody else for that matter.

Let’s face it, you could all be dead tomorrow.

Graphic and product design. I have a computer at my desk, so if I was to go on my break and look at HipForums at my desk. My supervisors won't know when I'm on my break or not, so they could easily assume I'm screwing around while on the clock.

When a visitor comes to the hospital, how are they supposed to know that a group of 20 medics dancing like imbeciles in the hallways are on break?

So when a worker is off duty, that gives them the green light to harm the company's image by acting like a dork for social media attention?

Imagine you're grief stricken with your loved one on life support. You're in the waiting room, feeling very tense and stressed that he or she might not make it. And suddenly you see a bunch of medical professionals doing this shit

This is just gonna suit you fine? OK then. I don't believe you at all.

I live life like a child without fear.

I couldn’t be happy in your set of circumstances. But graphics is cool.

The directors think I’m un orthodox!

Indeed different jobs allow different on-task activities. Working construction site security, I could play portable video games the whole shift if I wanted.

My mother was a nurse. And she told me, after I got fired from one of my first-ever jobs for being lazy, was that when she was a nurse, she always had to be doing something productive while on the clock (or simply LOOK busy at the very least). Even if the hospital was having a slow day, they expected her to be cleaning counter tops, straightening bed sheets, checking inventory, etc. And she was right to break it to me that it was my own damn fault for doing nothing when my work was having a slow day.
