On the morning of November 28, 1994, Scarver was assigned to a work detail with Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson that included cleaning the prison gymnasium bathroom. When guards left the three unsupervised, Scarver beat the other two men with a bar from a weight machine. When he returned to his cell early, a guard asked him why he was not still working. He explained "God told me to do it. You will hear about it on the 6 o'clock news. Jesse Anderson and Jeffrey Dahmer are dead". During that time two guards found the bodies of Dahmer and Anderson. Dahmer was pronounced dead on his way to the hospital from extensive head injuries, and Anderson died two days later. Scarver received two more life sentences for these murders.:toetap05:

clark was the writer, and one thing i can't stand about clark's writing is his endings are almost ALWAYS enigmatic, lady or the tiger type endings that leave you hanging.

i think what he was trying to say here though, much as with childhood's end, was/is the idea of human kind's birth into some sort of higher level of conscousness.

one thing i'm totally baffled by is how this transitioned into a discussion about dalmer getting killed in prison. or how the two even remotely relate in any way, shape or manor.

at any rate, 2001 was nicely done. with, for it's time, really really good fx.

i think trying to pin down what clark may have been trying to say, to anything litterally specific isn't going to get anywhere, because it seems like what's going on is he's being being premeditatedly enigmatic as kind of his favorite mode of story telling. which is something, appearently he manages to pull of for a great many of his readers.

well, he would have been considered a hero by many. whether he would truly be a hero is debatable.

it has nothing to do with the original topic. it was a joke based on a funny typo in the post that was quoted in my post. i didn't really expect it to completely change the direction of the conversation the way it did, but then again, if it hadn't this thread would have just died off and instead i got to learn some interesting information about jeffrey dahmer.
