I think it's been mentioned many times in these threads (or exhibited by entries) everyone comes at this from many diferent directions. And to Ganesha's point of late there have been a number of rude comments directed at people who do not fit the vision of someone else. Just because your vision is not being met by someone is no reason to call yourself normal and by extension everyone else a freak and could "they" please go away.

I don't think it's fair to "shoo" away the people with a foot fetish. Personally, I don't have one, but who are we to turn away someone who does? As for the pictures, big deal! I had pictures of my feet fot my signature pic for a long time! Much of the time they are very creative pictures, and I don't think it has anything to do with having a fetish or not.

In regards to my old threads...I don't so much think that it would be a great "vs" thing...I must have misunderstood when I read the thread the first time, and I thought everything was being wiped out to make a more inviting enviornment for new comers. I more or less meant that they had a personal meaning to me.
But as for cosmetic improvements, I really don't know lol

Well you're right. It is an open forum and all sorts of interests are probably represented. Jaime seems to feel it's either his way or the highway.......O well.

LOL, whatever "normal" is! Having pics of one's soles looks kind of strange to me, but I am not sure the moderators could/should do anything about, becasue the website prides itself on being uncensored.

To be honest, I am not interested in soles shots, but I really like pics of regular guys doing their thing barefoot, I find it kind of inspiring.

Thus said, I agree that we could all do an effort to make the topic look better, and avoid the whole sex thing. We may scare out people who otherwise are seriously thinking about the barefoot lifestyle.

As for re-vamping this section, I am all for making things new. If you have a past forum that you particularly like, just go ahead and open it again! Most of us have not been around for so long. If people are not interested or find it annoying, they will just not participate and the new thread will go on to oblivion.

I also agree about the SBL being extremely anchylosed and cranky. I get their email digest daily and I rarely read it, while I do read hipforums often.

Actually, I don't remember anyone discussing barefooting in a sexual context except, now that I think about it, the self proclaimed "normal" Jaime. Pause for thought.

WoW Hillman, I am sensing some hostility toward me. I am sorry for voicing my opinion, but I feel I am entitled to it and maybe some others will even agree with me. I just feel like I am just an average younger "hippie" guy who just happens to not like wearing shoes. Getting grouped in with a bunch of 50ish+ guys who have photo albums of their feet is sort of embarrasing. Sorry, but there you have it.

Let's just say, I used to run a wonderful forum on MySpace, before it gave way to FaceBook. It was called "Barefoot in Public". We would approve the people who joined it and we turned away anyone with a picture of FEET instead of their face. The result: an awesome forum where everyday people who liked going barefoot could go and talk about the ins and outs of barefooting. No trollers, no fetish talk, no militant thinkers. It's too bad MySpace went the way of the DohDoh bird. I remember a few females commenting that they loved the groups because there were no creeps in it. BTW, the majority of members were 20-35 females. Do you see any difference in what we have here? Are most of the girls creeped out? Who knows.

    Reality Check:

    1. Age and gender matter not
    2. The vast majority of posts in this forum are NOT sexual in nature (Pictures of feet are not necessarily sexual and some folks don't like their face on the internet for obvious reasons).
    3. The openness of Hip Forums prevents it from being another SBL
    4. Address the issue and/or behaviour, not the person; generalization is counterproductive.

    Hope this helps...

I get it Jaime. You are into labelling and judgements. Neither of those were hippie traits. And I have not noticed anyone talking about feet in a sexual way.....other than you. hmmmm

Who is forcing anyone to look at the pictures they post on their profile?
