im pretty sure that the mayans did not predict the end of the world or the human race...but the end of an era and a start of a new one or something like that...a moment of great change. I could be totally wrong though

The Mayans were a bit dumb to worship the sun? Lets examine that for a moment. The sun is the reason we are alive. It provides warmth, light, and energy. It makes more sense to worship the sun then some immaculate figure that we can't see or hear, but supposedly does everything for us... And kramsy is right. It's not the end of the world, but the start of a new age. A new way of thinking and examining the world. I don't know if it will happen or not, but the Mayans' calendar has predicted every cosmic event up till now, and is only off by a few minutes if I remember correctly. Their calendar is more advanced and accurate then the one we currently use. I wonder how they managed that without brains? -rolls eyes-

If i remember correctly, the ages through which we move according to the Maya calander also ties in with old Hindu calenders, and according to the Hindu calander we are currently in the Kali Yuga which is supposed to bring increased Bakti Yoga influence. I look at ISKCON exploding in the 60's-70's and all of the other increased interest in understanding our spirituality as proof that they are correct. I already believe all krsna says of Kali but I am noticing increased spiritual activity on a world wide scale
Well, in a way, worshipping in the sense of offering ANY form of sacrifice or devotion is a bit blind, not dumb, simply misguided, as is worship of any demigod would be. There is most definitley an esscence to the collective demigods, I call it Krsna, others call it God, others call it Allah. It may not even be able to have a name to conform the level of eternal divinity, but it is there. Ya krsna, in the Bible it talks about God destroying the earth but only to rebuild it for his people. Which is all that decides to be with him when they die. Till then, show love to EVERYONE, thats why were hear, to test our true nature with this physical form that we are given for only a certain amount of years until were at peace and with our father again.
