You mean the stimulus I'm thinking. Yes. Those with direct deposit receive $1,200 this week, plus $500 for each dependent they claim on their tax return under 17 years of age.

I do think california government is gouging the people though with regards to gas. They are using this crisis.

yes I heard about it. Apparent two have died from using it! That they know of.

this guy probably has a bag with such a stamp on it, Interesting how the baggy collection is a reflection of the times and history.

The Powdery Contents Are Gone, but the Stamp of Addiction Remains

Coronavirus is 10 times deadlier than swine flu, WHO leader says

This is interesting because what was initially being reported as a flu-like "bug" turns out to be far deadlier than the swine-flu we saw during the Obama administration.

I was wondering. Has anyone thought about the yulin, dog meat festival in China? It is in June I believe. Dogs in China have died from this virus too... will this food source for them be depleted by the time of this festival? Comes along? Uh oh, they are looking at a food crisis. Bats, and dogs off the list.

all people do is doomscrolling these days. This can’t be good for ones psyche, so on the bright side... many got to take a much needed vacation. The number of prospective deaths have been lowered... and zoom courts, online court trials and hearings are having lawyers show up still in bed, naked under the covers and shirtless or poolside in bathing suits.

    Re local production.

Will consumers be willing to pay the price to return manufacturing to their home countries.

ie. it costs $100 for a pair of shoes made in the third world (reduced labour, factory rent costs etc). To produce at home, they may have to pay $200 for the same shoes.

the profit margin for companies producing in China is greater... it won’t be doubled. Look at those shoe companies where production is in the USA. Sloggers for at most 40 dollars.... Capp dress shoes cost 80 dollars. Cheaper than you think. They aren’t brand name mark ups either, which are produced in places like China or simply buyers who pay to have their brand name thrown on products, coach purses does this as does many other companies like American eagle. Promoting slave labour. Roots in Canada does it too. It is a shame, all their stuff use to be made in Canada. Not anymore. Price remained the same but the profit margin went up.

First 'Significant' Coronavirus Mutation Discovered in Preliminary Study

Lol... I'm still trying to figure out what's significant or what mutated. I'll edit when I find out.

EDIT: No cut and dry answer, but it sounds like they're saying something to the effect of although there is a detected mutation it shouldn't effect the validity of the vaccine or vaccines that are being worked on.

"Prime Minister Scott Morrison has issued a direct plea to teachers to return to the classroom and join the “great heroes” of Australia including cleaners, supermarket workers, nurses and paramedics who are fighting COVID-19 simply by doing their jobs.

Warning parents the education of the nation’s children was “hanging in the balance”, he urged principals and teachers’ unions to hold talks on how classrooms could be made safe."

Someone in our office building tried to break in the storage room.. we seen to think for toilet paper. They are iron to sheet rock, some cracked plaster but no entry.
They could have just stolen rolls in the bathroom stalls they're not really locked down you can open them with a paperclip. I mean I guess the mother load is in the behind the storage closet but there's 5 storage closets. And only one was tried to get into..
10 bathrooms they could have wiped out all the stalls It would have been a lot of toilet paper..
    Very strange.

they also say that this study has not been verified as true or valid methods and conditions were maintained for the results. It has been submitted but basically it means nothing. Viruses mutate, Also it was submitted to bioRxiv which, through there, it will not be peer reviewed, all they do is check undergo basic screening and checked against plagiarism. That is all. It is a bs paper someone submitted to a dodgy company. Also it is zuckerberg initiative funded.

Another thing about these preprint places that do not undergo peer review... publishing of preprints is permitted, even under Creative Commons Licences. Which means that any paper that has not been peer reviewed is like an open source of untested, unsubstantiated results. Not reviewed at all but can be downloaded and used, or attempted to be which could be wasted time and wasted efforts into something completely useless. Your paper probably never gets reviewed, only about 16% submit to such places.
