It was 75th anniversary of VE day today, 8th May

And VE 2 day will be in about 15 years

10 years of another great depression, then WW3, then VE 2 day. But this time my money is on the germans

We used to play with mercury and slop it on our cuts and bruises.

  4. While I wouldn't want mercury in my system any more than I'd want lead, folks are too weird about mercury these days. It takes a lot of repeated exposure for it to have any effect. Also, handling it once in a while doesn't give it much time to infiltrate your body. Where mercury becomes genuinely dangerous is when it's evaporated or converted into an oxide, chloride, halide, isotope or tincture. But even as a tincture you'd have to ingest quite a lot of it for any effect. So the tiny amount used for preserving vaccines isn't worth worrying about and the amount used in contact lens solutions was even higher in content, but no more dangerous.

There was a Chinese king who thought mercury would make him immortal. But ingesting it didn't work, so he had his "doctor" convert it into something he could ingest. Which turned out to be an oxide. He declined slowly at first and eventually lost his mind as heavy metal poisoning will do (cadmium is really bad). It kills, sure, but not very quickly.

And I'm positive the residue from all the Mercurochrome I had applied in the 70s to my various cuts and scrapes is not what made me crazy. I'm certain that came from raising a teenager.

But now there are many concerns about the use of vaccines, on facebook they force you to read the official version of WHO and company before you have access on groups debating about vaccines ..

Wouldn't have seen an article like this in the news even a month ago

Coronavirus economic impacts: Younger people could suffer worse economic impacts from COVID-19 pandemic

Hoping your boss quits to play golf and you get their job? Not going to happen. Promotions at work will be few and far between for millennials as older workers refuse to vacate their positions, gumming up the job market.

The stock market crash amid the COVID-19 pandemic has been incredibly fast and has blown a major hole in Australian’s retirement savings. Spare a thought for all those greying professionals with a spreadsheet tracking down the exact moment they can afford to retire comfortably. They are now being forced to recalculate – and the spreadsheet is telling them they need to stay in work a lot longer.

That’s tough news for them, and it means more frustration for the young. More old people staying in work means even less opportunity to move up the corporate ladder

Age skews the impacts of the coronavirus: which age group will be hit hardest?

And we are back to la la land

It's mother's Day here tomorrow, they are actually telling you on the news not to hug your mum

I wonder how many Shermans and Karens listen to that shit
