It was presented in n the media that this one in Berlin Yesterday was broken up by police, 300 arrests

.....that was after several hours and 38,000 people turning up however

"Berlin police broke up a mass protest against coronavirus curbs on Saturday and arrested 300 in the German capital after demonstrators failed to keep their distance and wear masks as instructed.

Around 38,000 protesters gathered for events across the city and police reported pockets of unrest, as infections rise in Europe and public frustration at measures to contain the virus grows. Similar events took place in Paris, London and elsewhere on Saturday."

Blacks 3 times more likely than whites to get COVID-19

Black Americans are infected with COVID-19 at nearly three times the rate of white Americans, according to a new document from the National Urban League. The report, based on data from Johns Hopkins University, also shows black Americans are twice as likely to die from the virus.

According to the "State of Black America," the infection rate for blacks is 62 per 10,000, compared with 23 per 10,000 for whites. Latinos see even more infections: 73 per 10,000.

Both black and Latino Americans are also more likely to live in multi-generational housing, which places older, at-risk adults in close contact with younger people who may not know they have the virus.

Well, VG, I'm over 50, but none of my children are, and they are concerned about it. So are some of the younger faculty at the school where I teach. Ok, I've only spoken with one of them, and she has a pre-existing condition, called pregnancy. Moms can give transmit this virus, with severe consequences, to their fetuses.

However, think there is good reason to consider concerns about COVID to be overblown. Now Pamela Geller can reasonably be accused of stripping out some of the relevant context, so I don't know that I would take this as gospel. However, she reports that last week the CDC amended the COVID death count to say that only 6% (a little over 9000) of the 150,000 reported COVID deaths are due only to SARS-CoV-2. The rest had generally more than one serious condition that contributed to their demise. Well if you've got one foot in the grave already, and COVID comes and finishes you off, it is certainly misleading to attribute it all to COVID.

That's not to say COVID isn't a fairly serious public health issue, and, having seen my husband struggle with its aftermath for months from a merely moderate case, and having had a mild case myself, I can attest that it's no fun. But it's an illness that, say, back in the 1950's, when I was born, would have garnered only fraction of the attention that it has in the USA this year.

Jim’s Mowing prepares multi-million-dollar lawsuit against Victorian Government over stage 4 lockdown

Jim’s Mowing founder Jim Penman says his Victorian contractors financially affected by Melbourne’s strict second lockdown could sue the State Government for $7 million.

Mr Penman told NCA NewsWire about 615 contractors across the state were losing about $3000 a week since the Premier’s controversial workplace restrictions prevented cleaners and gardeners from working.

“We have repeatedly asked the Premier for hard evidence that what my company does contributes in any way to the spread of coronavirus and we have received nothing, just that his decision is based on health advice from experts, but that’s not hard evidence,” he said.

NEW DELHI (AP) — India registered 78,761 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, the biggest single-day spike in the world since the pandemic began, just as the government began easing restrictions to help the battered economy.

Enron-level scandal’: CDC reports just 6% of COVID-19 deaths occurred in people without comorbidities

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has quietly published information indicating that just 6 percent of victims who died from COVID-19 had no other co-morbidities, highly suggesting the disease is far less lethal to healthy people.

And if that’s the case, then the total U.S. coronavirus death count is likely way overblown, according to investigative reporter Jordan Schachtel, who uncovered the information and posted it online.

“The chatter circulating social media is accurate: CDC has reported that only 6% of COVID-19 deaths in the United States occurred in people w/out any comorbidities. Remember, the real # is significantly lower, given US standard for recording COVID deaths,” Schachtel wrote in a Twitter thread with a link to the health agency’s page containing the information, as well as a screenshot.
