That doesn't surprise me in the least.. The only way to find out how many people have been infected is to roll out the Antibody test , which is something the UK Government will not do despite promises .

Actually report says number of Hispanic kids was almost double number of Black kids

"Among the 121 decedents, 30 (25%) were previously healthy (no reported underlying medical condition), 91 (75%) had at least one underlying medical condition, and 54 (45%) had two or more underlying medical conditions. The most frequently reported medical conditions were chronic lung disease, including asthma (34 [28%]), obesity (33 [27%]), neurologic and developmental conditions (26 [22%]), and cardiovascular conditions (22 [18%])."

"young adults aged 18–20 years accounted for nearly half of all deaths in this population. Third, 75% of decedents had at least one underlying condition, and 45% had two or more underlying conditions."

    Race/Ethnicity
    Hispanic 54 (44.6%)
    American Indian/Alaska Native, non-Hispanic 5 (4.1%)
    Asian or Pacific Islander, non-Hispanic 5 (4.1%)
    Black, non-Hispanic 35 (28.9%)
    White, non-Hispanic 17 (14.0%)
    Multiple/Other† 2 (1.7)
    Missing/Unknown 3 (2.5)

Being facetious though; thats a total of 121 out of the 154,175 US covid deaths to 31st July

There's a facial expression of Arthurs Dora Winifred that Irm used to post (ad nauseam) that would seem appropriate at this moment.

Well, 121 "children" in total. 50 of those were actually 18-20, 17 were actually MIS-C cases
and 75% had at least one underlying condition; 17 of those cancer, 22 cardiovascular disease, 34 chronic lung disease

Only 48 of the were actually 13 or under i.e children

Those numbers would fail any statistical tests if the hypothesis is as the headline says covid kills more black children than white children

Headlines like that are just simply not true

All that really happened is a disproportionate number of essential workers in the US were Hispanic and there was a causal effect on their kids

Mortality rate in Africa is less than half what it is in North America

I actually agree here. Ethnicity doesn't really come into it . Its all down to background like the jobs that they do ,family size, housing and social background . My sister in law is of Caribbean extraction and she was asymptomatic . In the UK many NHS Hospital frontline workers originate from overseas hence it made them vulnerable to catching the virus from patients .

    Ah, 2020

China reports outbreak of brucellosis disease ‘way larger’ than originally thought

An outbreak of a debilitating airborne infection that can floor people for months, and in some cases kill, is more widespread than first thought, Chinese officials have confirmed.

News reports have said the disease’s spread is “way larger” than expected and has led to “widespread concern” about its consequences.

Almost 3500 people in the city of Lanzhou, in northwest China, have now tested positive for brucellosis, a bacterial infection which can have the side effect of inflamed testicles and can render some men infertile.

First time I ever heard of Brucellosis was out of the mouth of Dr Ken Alibek, the former First Deputy Director of Biopreparat, (the Russian Bio-weapons program) who defected to the west and now lives in the United States,

He was interviewed on the PBS show Frontline and talked about various agents he was working with including Brucellosis at his facility in Stepnogorst in Kazakhstan.

The idea the Russians thought about sterilizing the American male population during the cold war is disconcerting to say the least – ouch!

I can think of a few countries where they could have tested it first.

Did someone just mention China. :yum::yum::yum:

"This outbreak stemmed from a leak at the Zhongmu Lanzhou biological pharmaceutical factory, which occurred between late July to late August last year, according to the city's Health Commission. While producing Brucella vaccines for animal use, the factory used expired disinfectants and sanitizers -- meaning not all bacteria were eradicated in the waste gas."

Have to find tax revenue somehow thanks to the lockdowns. Not surprised it only took months for this to get momentum

Calls for a death tax on Baby Boomers to pay off aged care costs

Australians are hoarding huge sums in superannuation and investments until they die to pass on a big inheritance to their children sparking fresh calls for a death tax to pay for aged care.

Despite the option of using a reverse mortgage to pay for aged care costs, experts warn there is little incentive in the current system to do so, with the rich paying a fraction of the cost of aged care.

Instead, wealthy Australians are desperate to simply protect their nest eggs to pass on huge sums to their children.

    WOW!

One of the most respected and preeminent public health institutes in the world reduced to this..............

C.D.C. Testing Guidance Was Published Against Scientists’ Objections

A controversial guideline saying people without Covid-19 symptoms didn’t need to get tested for the virus came from H.H.S. officials and skipped the C.D.C.’s scientific review process.

A heavily criticized recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month about who should be tested for the coronavirus was not written by C.D.C. scientists
and was posted to the agency’s website despite their serious objections, according to several people familiar with the matter as well as internal documents obtained by The New York Times.

The guidance said it was not necessary to test people without symptoms of Covid-19 even if they had been exposed to the virus. It came at a time when public health experts were pushing for more testing rather than less,
and administration officials told The Times that the document was a C.D.C. product and had been revised with input from the agency’s director, Dr. Robert Redfield.

But officials told The Times this week that the Department of Health and Human Services did the rewriting and then “dropped” it into the C.D.C.’s public website, flouting the agency’s strict scientific review process.

That is the current state of play in the UK. Because the UK Government has failed in its attempt to get the "World Beating" testing regime into play despite its pledges and promises . Therefore only those with symptoms should apply for a test.. That's how bad the situation is in the UK. That's why the figures we get quoted each day are just meaningless tosh .

When BJ caught Covid-19 it should have been a wake-up call to action, and an admission that he was wrong.

Instead his humbling experience was reported to the center for short-lived phenomena

Are you kidding that's one of their primary missions during a pandemic.- information, information, information.

It would be possible to cite hundreds of misdeeds within the trump white house and you wouldn’t acknowledge a single one.

    Usual NYT clickbait garbage

What are YOU talking about? The CDC scientists are obviously people with scientific backgrounds working for CDC, as opposed to recently replaced paranoid loonie politico Michael Caputo and other political hacks Trump recently put in charge of information. Without the scientists in control, the agency will lose its credibility fast.
