The CDC's weekly report on US COVID-19 deaths breaks down fatalities by age, sex, race, and comorbidities — health conditions that increase a person's risk of a severe case.

    From: Business Insider

Far-right conspiracy theorists say 94% of US COVID-19 deaths don't count because those Americans had underlying conditions. That's bogus.

Coronavirus UK: Harsh new fines for those who fail to self-isolate, quarantine

People in England who refuse to self-isolate to stop the spread of coronavirus could face fines of up to £10,000 (AU$17,718) under tough new regulations announced over the weekend to tackle a surge in cases.

The eye-watering financial penalties makes Britain, along with Australia, one of the few countries in the world to impose harsh fines if you fail to follow coronavirus rules.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said this week that Britain was seeing a second wave of COVID-19, and introduced new restrictions for millions of people across northwest, northern and central England.

    UK introduces insane COVID-19 fine

Covid: Is it time we learnt to live with the virus?

The constant mantra is the virus must be suppressed and contained. But how do you do this when people can be infectious without knowing they have it? Where it can be passed on silently because people do not develop symptoms?

The nation has been brought to a standstill once at immense cost to the economy, education and health more generally. And now with cases rising there is the threat of new national restrictions, while large parts of the country have already found themselves back in partial lockdown. But are we fighting a losing battle? Do we instead need to learn to live with the virus?

Is it time we learnt to live with the virus?

"As of June 30, 2020, among 4,975 U.S. adult respondents, 40.9% reported having delayed or avoided any medical care, including urgent or emergency care (12.0%) and routine care (31.5%), because of concerns about COVID-19 (Table 1). Groups of persons among whom urgent or emergency care avoidance exceeded 20% and among whom any care avoidance exceeded 50% included adults aged 18–24 years (30.9% for urgent or emergency care; 57.2% for any care), unpaid caregivers for adults (29.8%; 64.3%), Hispanic adults (24.6%; 55.5%), persons with disabilities (22.8%; 60.3%), persons with two or more selected underlying medical conditions (22.7%; 54.7%), and students (22.7%; 50.3%). One in four unpaid caregivers reported caring for adults who were at increased risk for severe COVID-19."

Do you know, there's a wonderful invention - its called a vaccine - that is supposed to give and then boost immunity to the virus, but then you being the bloody fool you are, and rejecting the possibility of a vaccine, will eventually succumb to it and then spread it to everyone else in your circle of contacts, who, like you reject the offer of a vaccine.

That's quite interesting about the heart cases. The experts said there was a link before with Covid but it seemed to just disappear and then the loss of taste and smell came more to the fore as a symptom , although the UK Government ignored this for a while before including it. When I had Covid the loss of taste and smell wasn't a "proper" symptom at the time.

    Same article

    "
In fact, Prof Robert Dingwall, a sociologist and an adviser to the government, believes the public may well be now at the stage where it is "comfortable" with the idea that thousands will die from Covid just as they are that they die of flu.

He believes it is only a particular element of the public health and scientific leadership who worry about driving down the infection level and is critical of politicians for not being "brave enough" to be honest with the public that the virus will be around "forever and a day" even with a vaccine."

Is it time we learnt to live with the virus?

And an article about the UK government exaggerating flu deaths in 2018 when there were 50,000 more deaths than expected that year, but only 3,500 hospital admissions for flu

Government exaggerates flu mortality again: why cannot the public be trusted with the truth?

That is, they have been pulling this shit well before Covid

There's really only one question. Would they still be alive today 6 months later If they didn't contract COVID-19, the answer is yes, in 98-99% of the cases.

As for the additional almost 200,000 deaths in the united states above what would normally be expected. Sure some of them can be attributed to the fact that people
were afraid to visit the ER during the covid-19 emergency, but that would only account for 50-60%

So what did the other 80-100K people die from?

Some in the know, have suggested they were undiagnosed cases of the coronavirus. - which would bring our numbers closer to 300,000
