Then if I say Trump is the Republican's new president does that mean he's not a president?
    Points to ponder...
My daddy used to say that pro and con are opposite; if PROgress means to move forward, what does Congress mean?

Covid-19 Continues Its Ever-Changing Onslaught on the U.S.

Covid-19 has proved itself an unpredictable and ever-changing threat. As President Trump and some of his allies and associates test positive for the coronavirus, the number of new cases reported each day across
the United States has been slowly rising. The nation’s response has been uneven and inconsistent.

    Wisconsin’s situation has become alarming.

Northeastern Wisconsin, a politically mixed region that also happens to be crucial to both parties’ hopes of winning the presidency, is facing one of the country’s most widespread, uncontrolled outbreaks right now.

By Saturday, Senator Ron Johnson, Republican of Wisconsin, announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. Three of the four American metro areas with the most recent cases per capita were in
northeastern Wisconsin, with the Oshkosh area faring worst of all.

“I’m honestly not sure that anything we do right now will make a difference,” the mayor of Oshkosh, Lori Palmeri, said recently. “It’s too late.”

Across Wisconsin, warning signs mounted with few glimmers of progress. More than 3,000 new cases were announced in the state in a single day for the first time. The state set single-day records for deaths
and hospitalizations. Its test positivity rate reached 20 percent, a loud signal that the outbreak in the state has spun of control.

“We need to stop the spread,” said Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, a Democrat, “and that means people need to start staying home whenever possible.”

I’ve had some intense dreams over the course of the pandemic but, Jesus ................

The Scary COVID Symptom Even Healthy People Are Having

The coronavirus pandemic has affected nearly every facet of everyday life, and new studies show this is extending beyond waking hours, into many of our dreams.

The Finnish researchers compiled the dream topics into clusters, and found several common nightmare themes, which involved "failures in social distancing, coronavirus contagion, personal protective equipment, dystopia, and apocalypse."

Fortunately the local MBTA system requires the use of face masks before boarding any trains or buses.

The Department of Transportation rejected a public transit mask mandate

The US Department of Transportation on Friday turned down a petition by a group of labor unions who sought a federal mask requirement for passengers riding on public transportation, according to a Rolling Stone report.

The announcement came on the same day that President Trump revealed that he and first lady Melania Trump had contracted the coronavirus.

Wisconsin ICU beds at 81% capacity

The whole state, pop. near 6 million, 133 hospitals, has only 194 patients in ICU.....in the whole state

And that is supposedly "spun out of control"

You do realize this is the message being being put forward by the state and local government, not the newspapers
(or as you refer to as fake news)

The governors office, the mayors, and state public health and safety officials.

  11. I've never worn a mask, I'm not out campaigning but come in contact with enough people in my house.. last night my grandgirl dropped in to see me on her walk with her friend, both maskless, and she kissed me on the cheek when she left....

WE work to keep our Immune Systems strong --- Vit C, Vit D, Zinc, Grape Seed Extract are our masks......

WHO estimates 10 per cent of the world’s population has COVID-19

"Our current best estimate tells us that about 10 per cent of the global population may have been infected by this virus,” WHO emergencies director Michael Ryan told a special meeting of the agency’s executive board."

WHO estimates 10 per cent of the world has COVID-19

10% is 780 million, which would put the fatality rate at 0.12%

So WHO just admitted covid-19 is only as deadly as influenza

Yeah... But I thought you didn't trust them so it must be a lie, right?

Or you trust them when it fits your agenda... Right?

Well, both myself and the WHO now say Covid is only as deadly as the flu, so you don't have any other options, you have to believe that too

I will point out I said that like 6 months before the WHO though ;)

    You must be... like, smart.

"like, smart" should not be confused with actually being smart. It's just similar.

You are absolutely correct. All we need to do, is not allow peaks of the virus that would overwhelm the health services, denying people who need medical help access to doctors and the medical equipment that they need to recover.

We all now know, that a virus is involved in the last 72 hours of a persons life in around 95% of deaths, as it has done since the birth of mankind.
Therefore, while on the one hand, we can blame covid for 95% of all deaths, on the other hand we could blame it for none of them.

In the UK, on AVERAGE approximately 1,500 people die every day, but this peaks at around 2,000 at certain times of the year. I am fairly certain that while 2020 may be slightly above average, it will not be the highest in the last decade.

What most people are forgetting is that as every person recovers from the virus, they share their immunity, so the more isolation the slower that natural immunity will spread. Since some people show only minor symptoms, we have NO IDEA how many people have recovered already.

About 3 years ago, I suffered a cardiac condition that caused scarring of the walls leading to a 1 in 4 eptopic arrhythmia. This is identical to the affects of covid 19 on the heart. (it heals naturally in approximately 18 months)
Every day, more and more specialist consultants are starting to think that corona started to mutate to humans around 5 years ago.
Unfortunately, tests for antibodies are as yet unreliable, so their is no way of knowing if the people having less severe symptoms have been carrying them for a while.

Tests for positive virus somewhat confuse me, both since by the time that the results come in, people will already know that they are affected. People could also become infected 10 minutes after the test swab is taken.

I PERSONALLY think that while we all need to be careful, WELL MEANING officials are now overreacting, damaging lifestyle and the word economy.

    On a positive note.
Allowing admin staff to PERMANENTLY work from home for PART of the week could slow the spread of future viruses, reduce congestion on roads and public transport, reducing air pollution at the same time. I know of at least one major company that has already been doing this for the last 2 decades, but the idea has been slow to catch on.

In one way, this is meaningless.
It does not differentiate between people who have died with covid in their system and those who died BECAUSE the covid was their entire cause of death.
The later could well reduce your figure by more than 90%, while people in the former group were already in the final days of their life.

The one figure that gives all this some perspective is that around 275,000 people die on this planet every day.

Yep, and If you go by Covid only, it's ten times LESS deadly than the flu

Then someone else says, yeah but, yeah but a million Covid deaths this year

    - of which 100,000 are Covid only.....in its first year, that will cut in half next year, 50,000

Whilst the flu range estimate in 250,000 to 500,000 deaths a year worldwide

And 50,000 is 1/10th of 500,000, so yes, Covid up to 10 times less deadly than the flu

The media circus has done little, except spread fear and confusion. Some idiots are now calling covid a disease, without ANY evidence that it meets the criteria of a virus to which the body cannot produce natural immunity. Tuberculosis in a prime example

While viruses mutate constantly, it is always a concern when a virus changes it's species host. Corona is present in almost every animal on the planet, they have high immunity, but just like us, the virus may play a part in the last few hours of their life.

I am becoming increasingly doubtful whether covid 19 was the first transfer to humans, most likely from bats. Over the last 3 years their has been a huge increase in eptopic heart conditions caused by viral scarring of the wall tissue. This is almost identical to heart damage caused by covid 19.
