there are moderate republicans out there, and moderate democrats also. the mod dems are jumping ship, trying to get away from the radical left. there is no middle with the left. they want total control of the population, no guns, open borders, and lots of free stuff. ( never mind who has to pay for it).
funny , the dems wanted more border security when they were in power, but now that the right wants border security, they're totally against it. border patrol is constantly catching child abusers , drug kingpins, foreign nationals from middle eastern countries . and the left just ignores all of that. I lived in El Paso when I was young, you could hear automatic gunfire every night. mexicans would commit crimes in mexico, get a green card and cross the border " for work ". then after getting bored they would commit more crimes on the american side. whip out the green card and back across the border to hide.
unfortunately , weather science has been adulterated with false data , and people believe the sky is falling.

the dems need to sweep their party clean and remove the troublemakers from their midst.

Taken out of context. What a stupid stunt on your part! They might have been reacting to one of your posts, or a statement that there's a possibility that Trump will win another term, or the latest news about Republican cowardice in the Senate.

We have to do something. We can no longer afford to do nothing, @onceburned.

Once Burned's remarks are false data. What does he know? Most climate scientists disagree with him. He believes everything he sees or hears from his right wing sources.

  9. I'm curious to know which "we" you are speaking of. And who it is doing "nothing"?

In the US we are shuttering coal-powered plants while developing gasification and carbon sequestration technology. Coupled with selective catalytic reaction systems the NOx emissions of gas turbine power plants has been reduced by over 90%. CO and sulfur dioxide have also been reduced substantially, reducing the acidity of rain in adjacent communities.

What I see happening too often is folks going full Greta without pointing to what it is specifically they object to. Sure "global climate change" is a great catch-all for this, but again it's nebulous at the street level. Which is why I think it's more important to examine the production and mitigation of actual pollutants than to point only to fossil fuels and say they are the root of it all (while conveniently ignoring underground coal fires, volcanoes and sulfurous floor vents).

The only part of climate change that I have seen "settled" is the fact that it happens.

How this ties into the election is dubious. Nobody's environmental promises can be secured unless there's a consensus.

removing regulations is not going to get us anywhere except for right back where we started. This administration has been about deregulation and placing people in charge who, for lack of better terminology (& sincerely regrettably) "understand" big business and the effects these regulations have on their performance.

Even if there were a threat of loss of prosperity or a threat to the competitive nature of business by regulation, it's worth it to see the planet thrive!

  11. Every administration addresses this, most providing lip service or targeting specific industries (like ethanol) to protect old money methods. But in all of this the progress toward reducing actual pollutants is still happening. Nobody has rolled back those regulations because it took a substantial bipartisan effort to enact them in the first place. The kind of crap Trump is streamlining is regulations that are related to the operation and business of pollution-creating firms. Things like redundant permitting requirements, extended wait times and a long line for environmental impact studies.

Meh, the timing on this one is highly suspicious. I mean that's the first time I think you've ever sworn at me

Just at the time one of the dem candidates gets caught on tape like this....but a guy that wouldn't even have been described as liberal until this campaign

You and a few others just seemed to have lost it at me at that particular moment

Because you know what it really means, that audio recording may get overlooked, or it may have a huge impact on the Democratic campaign

Since it is now going to be basically Bernie, Buttigieg and maybe Bloomberg if this blows over. Bernie is the only one of them I would be convinced isn't racist. Buttigieg doesn't seem to be doing well with African American voters

Not do I believe most of those bureaucratic twats in Brussels aren't racist

    As I said timing....mmmmm hmmmm

  14. I think the tension is driven by fear of Trump's second term. After a ballot box slap down. It should be evident by now that he knows what buttons he's pushing. I expect attacks on people with red hats will suddenly spike (even though many won't even be Trump/MAGA hats). Things are just so rabid and desperate on the left these days. None of them are telling any jokes.
