Anyway, all the courses I've taken at their word. Usually the research is backed up with bibliographical reference as to how this or that were studied. Poverty & ethnic differences (which are harder because for one you need a willing participant for most research methods. Or you could just do ethnography.)

A middle eastern gas station owner banned me from using their bathroom yesterday. I went out to meet him to get the key by the outside bathrooms as the clerk suggested I do and then he refused to hand it to me outside. Then I cursed at him when we got inside.

I was wearing a beanie and was dirty from working on my car. So there is one knock against the concept of white privelege for me.

 

Did he ban all white people or just you?

Could be an optical illusion. We, of course, started off with two unusual lily white rural states. The Iowa caucus was a mess. New Hampshire is in Bernie's backyard. Buttigieg's & Klobuchar's strong showings divided the moderate vote, and Buttigeg and Klobuchar are still competing in Nevada. In Nevada, Steyer has also been saturating the media and gaining ground. So we'll see. In South Carolina, Biden seems to be ahead.

 

I have a similar story, once a group of friends and I went into a gas station owned by a middle easterner after a night of camping. We were dirty and also probably acting really silly. Silly white people.
And the owner accused us of stealing as we were standing in line to buy things and then kicked us out so we didnt buy anything.

And I still think white privilege is a real thing.

 

Well, did it happen to most white people? And not to non-white people?

 

Like I said in the beginning, Biden is just not a good candidate. Remember when Writer was all gung-ho about Biden?

I just hope people aren't looking at Buttigieg as the alternative. Not that I have a problem with him, just that I'd really like Bernie Sanders to win.

 

Jim Crow? Anti Inclusion acts? Japanese American internment?

 

If Jim Crow and Japanese Internment Camps are your examples of White privlege then it should be obvious that it no longer exists. I thought you were all talking about the idea that I thought I read here started in the 1980's.
