The people who push this rhetoric are racists in of themselves.

Their argument is that people of certain races lack the ability to acquire a state issue ID.

Clearly they must think these people are too dumb and inept to figure out how to be a citizen. Bigotry of low expectations no doubt.

  2. Bingo! (Which is not racist)

Consider who should be promoting this, the government. And they are. They are just doing the usual government job of it, so it has been lost in bureaucratic mediocrity.

However, this does not provide an answer for everyone making the claim that requiring voters to be properly identified, is somehow against the constitution or worse, is institutionalized racism. So what's their agenda?

I believe those people, the ones saying there's a systemic issue that adversely effects and influences people of color, have a point. I don't think it's necessarily that those perpetrating policies like the poor communication of a price break on IDs are bigoted. But it's certainly the poor people of our communities that are missing out on the subsidy; people of color disproportionately included, though not targeted.

  5. In what way? They're just as intelligent as the non-poc poor Americans, and plenty of them seem to be getting the message. It seems more like a way to keep the old issues fresh which would get a big boost if actual "oppression" can be proven (especially with statistics). Too much of politics is scripted for me to think this is a spontaneous issue or a relic from the past.

Just meaning that they are overwhelmingly present among the figures of unemployed and homeless and among those living in poverty at higher and higher percentages every time we count! :)

Am I the only person in the country who had to provide an ID to register to vote?

Did you provide ID in your private gun sale? Maybe you don't own guns. You seem like the type to. Anyway point is some Americans just feel certain things are rights. No need for an ID. And if you examine what these laws mean you see the racial biases. It's about being "fair" to rural white voters only.

  12. Spot on. Only, they haven't fully wised up yet or we wouldn't be dealing with all the partisan nonsense that clearly crosses the line.

But you're some sort of royal cat.

But I live in a democrat controlled state. So if I had to provide an ID in order to vote in a democrat controlled state, isn't that a direct contradiction to the narrative pushed and subscribed to by people like 6 and ************?

Since you mentioned me, I'm not sure what you're asking. Everyone should provide proof of citizenship and/or voter registration to vote anywhere regardless.

But dont you beleive "the left " opposes this?

  18. And yet, voter ID laws are still lamented as racist. I didn't make that up out of thin air and you know it. I also didn't call out the democrat-controlled states for requiring an ID to vote, only that the most expensive state ID cards are primarily in democrat-controlled states (except Florida). It still doesn't mean they require an ID to vote, only that they are cashing in on expensive ID cards made out of the very same materials as cheap ID cards from less greedy states.

There are also a couple of republican-controlled states that don't require an ID to vote. And the federal government has stepped in to mess with state elections on the basis of past issues that are decades old and largely solved or easily explained. They are legislating on stigma instead of facts.

here's what the ACLU says. I think it's related, but may not address "exactly" why the supposed voter ID scenario is "racist". Under why it's 'Discriminatory' they talk about certain forms of ID being acceptable while others are not. They make a really strong case! :)

  20. Here's an interesting article regarding the potential for Russian influence.....
Roger Stone Sentencing Was Reasonable, Russia Collusion Charges Were Not | National Review

"The Roger Stone sentencing farce is as fitting an end to the Russia Collusion saga as one could conjure up . . . though it might be more fitting to call it the end of Russia Collusion, Part I. No sooner did the first flick conclusively bomb than the media-Democrat complex was issuing the casting call for Russia Collusion, Part II.

    In the sequel,
you’re asked to believe that Putin is manipulating the chess pieces to steal a second term for President Trump – somehow preferring an incumbent who beefs up the U.S. armed forces, pressures NATO allies to beef up theirs, imposes painful sanctions on Moscow, provides lethal aid to Ukraine, ramps up U.S. energy production, and seeks to thwart the Kremlin’s coveted natural-gas partnership with Germany, over an unabashed socialist who honeymooned in the Soviet Union and whose policies would wreck the American economy, end the resurgence of American energy production, and hollow out the American armed forces.

It’s a lunatic plot. But the scriptwriters no doubt figure that if they can peddle what they’ve been peddling for the last two weeks, they can peddle anything."

This requires a layer of logic to properly interpret.
