I'm just wondering how what onceburned stated applies on France according to VG. Is there a meaningful thought behind this? I guess not if he doesn't clarify. I think what I'd like to see is a social program to help Americans pay for groceries. It could be paid for with tax revenue. We have low income programs that offer money specifically for grocery stores, but nothing for middle income families.

@onceburned is being sarcastic in my opinion. He is saying that by wanting a higher amount of taxation that I'm letting the government dictate my lifestyle. I don't think that by implementing extensive social programs we lose any freedom at all though. Perhaps he will provide an example, or maybe he has seen others talk about "big government" in a similar fashion and he is repeating on cue.
